Wired Productions is set to launch their psychological horror Those Who Remain later this month, and invite us to visit Dormont, a sleepy town where the residents are warped by dark forces. Our hero, Edward, must survive and unlock the secrets of the town's evil. Take a boo: I like it! Creepy atmosphere, scary beasts, and a giant Swamp-Thing like monster. I'm on board for this one! Naughty Dog's much anticipated sequel to 2013's The Last of Us has already gone Gold in pre-sales, and the game isn't even due out until June 19! Well, today we got a story trailer for this journey into survival horror, and it teases a brutal and emotional tale of vengeance and regret in a world that -- zombie thingies aside -- suddenly feels all-too real. Check it out: The lead up to the game has been a bumpy one, with its May release delayed due to the pandemic -- which was stupid, as we're all home and wanting to play new games -- and key plot points being leaked by hackers. One of cinema's greatest joys is Taika Waititi's comedic vampire tale What We Do in the Shadows. It's wonderfully witty, laugh-out-loud funny, and more than a little quirky. It's one of the few movies I wish didn't end, or at the very least had a bazillion sequels to keep me entertained. Surprise! Waititi is continuing his story, only as a new FX TV series. Sure, the cast and setting are completely different, but the same concept -- and humour -- is there. The show follows three vampires who have been roommates in Statin Island for hundreds of years, and it looks great!

This looks like some next level weird shit, and I'm A-OK with that! Based on the violent and wacky comic-book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba, The Umbrella Academy seems like a mashup of The X-Men and... I'm not sure what. But there's a talking monkey, so I just rolled with it.

The dead are once again ready to rise this July, as High Octane Pictures unleashes its latest horror entry with Ouija Seance: The Final Game. Yup, last night we pimped weepy dramas, tonight low-budget horror. Life is grand here in The Basement.

If The Lost Coast Tapes, Willow Creek and Exists proved anything, it's audiences -- at least horror audiences -- are into bigfoot. And why not? The legend is ripe for film adaptation. And the woods are a perfect setting for a scary movie. Big hairy monster in the woods. What's not to like. Not a question. A statement.

STX Entertainment's The Boy comes out just two days from now, but I hadn't seen a lick of footage until this final trailer hit earlier today. That's right, there's been more than one trailer for this movie, and I'm just getting around to talking about the flick. Two days before it comes out.

It's been a long while since we heard anything about the upcoming supernatural mystery/thriller The Veil. Then all of a sudden a trailer appears, which makes sense as the flick opens next month. You remember The Veil? It's from Blumhouse Productions, who pretty much own the horror industry at the moment, and stars hottie Jessica Alba and former Punisher Thomas Jane. OK, you're up to speed.

We've been pumped for the sci-fi/action flick Starship Rising for a while now. Why? Because it stars Basement fave Brooke Lewis, that's why! Well, thanks to the lovely Brooke, The Basement has scored the official trailer and poster for Alien Armageddon  director Neil Johnson's latest. And it looks like a lot of fun, if you ask me.

That headline is pure tease. Although I have no doubt the sexy star of Jonathan Glazer 's thriller Under the Skin gets naked in the film, there is only a suggestion of such in the preview below. Sorry. Well, not really. For the record, this doesn't look like my kind of flick. It looks very weird and Kubrik. But some folks are into that kind of thing. Maybe if I'm in the mood for some naked Scarlett Johannson . . .

The more I witness of Arnold Schwarzenegger's upcoming action flick Sabotage, the more I'm primed to see it. This red-band trailer pretty much sealed the deal -- I'm on for March 28. For one, this is a return to the heyday of Schwarzenegger movies, with foul language and violent action, but it puts the Austrian Oak among a talented ensemble cast that should introduce him to a modern audience.

A trend has developed during the last couple of years, a trend of teasing movie trailers. You know, those things that play before a flick that's supposed to make you want to watch the damn thing? Well, seems it's not enough to have a trailer anymore, or even a teaser trailer . Now Hollywood thinks we need a trailer for the damn trailer. What do you need a trailer for a trailer for? Isn't that the teaser trailer's job?

Yeah, I know. The sequel to the rather good V/H/S was supposed to be called S-VHS . Now it's called V/H/S/2. Probably because no one remembers what S-VHS was. So changing the title made sense. Enough boring talk. Watch this preview. Pretty damn intense for a green-band trailer. Early buzz is this is awesome. As stated above, V/H/S was good, not as great as everyone made it out to be, but good. Hopefully this is an improvement, and not another tired entry in the rapidly dying found-footage horror subgenre. V/H/S/2 is directed by Simon Barrett, Adam Wingard , Edúardo Sanchez, Gregg Hale , Timo Tjahjanto, Gareth Evans, and Jason Eisener. Man oh man, this preview for Hatchet III was so worth taking a break from the tequila for. There's Red Band trailers , and there's this trailer for Hatchet III. It has balls . . . literally! Hatchet creator Adam Green has handed the directing duties over to BJ McDonnell for this one, but the trademark Hatchet gore and humour is alive and well. As are series vets Danielle Harris (pictured above) and Kane Hodder . Self-aware comedies with actors playing themselves is a new concept in Hollywood, which is why we here in The Basement have made note of the upcoming apocalypse comedy This is the End. A few months back we showed you the Red Band teaser trailer. Now we've got the full-on raunchy preview -- which features Seth Rogan , James Franco, Jonah Hill , Danny McBride , Michael Cera , Jay Baruchel , Craig Robinson, Jason Segal Aziz Ansari , Mindy Kaling and Paul Rudd . Yup, the whole Judd Apatow crew. The plot? The world is coming to an end and our A-list cast has to survive. Why do I want to see it? It looks funny as fuck, plus I get to watch Michael Cera die, that twat Aziz Ansari get kicked into a big hole and Emma Watson go postal. My kind of movie. When Christopher R. Mihm shows off the trailer for his latest, and most ambitious, film yet, we in The Basement pay attention . . . and are compelled to share. We first heard about The Giant Spider from one of its stars, Shannon McDonough, during an exclusive interview with her last season. Today, writer/director Mihm unveiled a trailer for this bad boy and shared it with us. Now we're sharing it with you. All I can say is nice work dude! This looks great, and continues the spirit of fun Mihm brings to all his films. The Giant Spider will be released May 22, and Mihm has assured us a copy is on the way. With all the hullabaloo about the Evil Dead remake permeating our popular culture at the moment I thought it might be fun to take another look at the original classic . . .  in about 60 seconds. That's right, this fan-made version of Sam Raimi 's Evil Dead tells the whole story in one minute. How's that for getting to the heart of the matter? Writer/director Rob Zombie 's latest, The Lords of Salem , hits April 19 by way of Anchor Bay Entertainment . And, with the clock ticking down to its release, the studio has seen fit to release an official trailer . Sure, a teaser trailer was issued back in October, and it was way more fucked up. But this is still pretty damn effective, with some great imagery and more hints at what it's all about. And what it's about is residents of Salem, Massachusetts are visited by a 300-year-old coven of witches.Somehow a DJ , Sheri Moon Zombie , gets mixed up in all the creepy shit. We'd be idiots if we weren't looking forward to this one. I've dug all of Zombie's stuff, including his Halloween films. Having him back on his own turf is something to be excited about.
