Words Of Respect

"The cats over at the We Came From the Basement Podcast are engaging, knowledgeable and cool as a hooker's corpse freezing up in the morgue! I have a blast every time I sit down with them!"
   -Writer/Actor/Director, John Fallon

"Jason and Shawn contacted me years ago to be a 'Scream Queen' Guest on The Basement. I have been a guest on hundreds of radio shows throughout my career and on occasion, I will connect with the hosts on a deeper level. Jason, Shawn and I immediately connected with our "old school" vibe and our taste in horror films! These guys are some of the coolest, most real people I've met in the industry. We have spent several years on the radio together at Halloween and they have been an "undying" source of support for my career! Oh, and, let's not forget that they both crush on Ms. Vampy!!! I am blessed to now call Jason and Shawn "friends" and look forward to many more Halloweens together from Canada to Hollywood!"
   -Actress/Scream Queen/Ms. Vampy, Brooke Lewis

"I always LOVE chatting with Jason and Shawn on We came From The Basement, its a bloody great time for all!"
    -Actress/Scream Queen/Writer/Director, Jessica Cameron

"We love We Came from the Basement! Interviews with Jason and Shawn are always in-depth, informative and a lot of fun."
    -Radio Silence

"This show is so well produced."

  1. Hi there

Please find below details of the online release of our short film "Waterborne".

We'd love if you could let your readers know about the release and if you feel inclined to review the film, that would also be awesome.

We're hoping to use coverage and commentary/reviews as part of our pitch to get the feature into production, so you'd be really helping us out.

In return, we will obviously plug the hell out of you!

If you'd like to write something, additional photos and film docs can be found here or contact chris@octopodfilms.com

Zombie kangaroo short ‘Waterborne’ unleashed online

“…a tale that's authentically Australian and 100% fun to watch. A fresh, cool, new reason to care about zombies again.” - Muldoon - Aint It Cool News

After twelve months of international festival screenings and awards, Australian zombie kangaroo short film, Waterborne, is hopping onto the internet.

The film will be free to view at www.waterbornemovie.com and on Vimeo www.vimeo.com/octopodfilms/waterborne.

The self-contained short film, which features a ‘zombie kangaroo’ that attacks a ranger on a deserted bush road, also acts as a proof-of-concept for a feature length project currently in development.

Since the first screening twelve months ago, Waterborne has received rave reviews at numerous international genre festivals including Fantasia International Film Festival (Montreal), Fantastic Fest (Austin), Stanley Film Festival (Denver) and Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia. It has since been shown at over 50 festivals worldwide, including a number of Academy Award accredited festivals.

Written by Ryan Coonan and Richard Barcaricchio, the film has also won several awards including Best Australian Short at the Monster Films’ ‘Monster Fest’ in Melbourne, Best Short at the Abertoir Horror Festival in Wales, Best Microshort Zombie Film at Fear Fete in Missouri, and Best International Horror Short at Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Fest.
