If you're a genre fan -- a TRUE genre fan -- then the name Eric Red means something to you. He wrote the genre classics The Hitcher, Blue Steel and Near Dark, and directed horror faves Body Parts, Bad Moon and 100 Feet.
Now he's back with a new action/horror flick, one that tackles the most infamous monsters of all time: Bigfoot.
Slated to shoot in late 2019, No Man's Ridge follows a team of five heavily armed hunters who go into the woods of Wyoming to bag the biggest game of all . . . you guessed it -- Bigfoot. But they soon find themselves out-manned by a relentless killing machine when they land on the Sasquatch's turf.
Sounds pretty bad ass doesn't it? But it gets better as Red cast John Fallon and Marc Natoli in the flick. Fallon is the writer/director of The Shelter and the upcoming Heretic, and is no stranger to being in front of the camera, having starred in the action flick Deaden and the action/horror movie Dead Shadows.
Natoli made huge waves in the action scene earlier this year as the star of the martial arts short The Proposal.
Genre fave Nick Principe (Laid to Rest, Chromeskull, American Muscle) plays Bigfoot.
The crew so far includes producer and special makeup effects supervisor Robert Kurtzman (The Haunting of Hill House, From Dusk Till Dawn) and producer and special makeup effects designer Steve Johnson (Ghostbusters, Bad Moo). Fallon and Meredith Red will also produce. JoBlo's Berge Garabedian is executive producer.
Line Drive Productions, Bruise Productions Inc and JoBlo Movie Productions and behind the film. This will also be the first film released under the Arrow in the Head Presents banner.
This is shaping up to be one bad-ass mothertrucker. You can keep tabs on the project as it develops via its official Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram. And we'll keep yah updated on No Man's Ridge right here, in The Basement.
