So say we all...again; Battlestar: Galactica lives... again

The headline says it all. With the streaming wars in full swing between Netflix, Disney, Apple and CBS, the Peacock network, otherwise known as NBC, is getting into the game. They're bringing back their beloved franchise from the late 70s to help fight the battle... Battlestar: Galactica. Because everything that's old is new again, obviously. Did you know Battlestar: Galactica was previously, and successfully, rebooted on SyFy from 2004 to 2009? Little is known about the latest incarnation, other than Mr. Robot showrunner Sam Esmail is involved, and the series takes place within the same universe as the 2004-2009 run. I grew up with the original Galactica, and enjoyed the 2000s redo very much. I don't know how much I can give a shit the third time around, but I'll try. We're curious to see how the streaming wars play out. Disney has Star Wars, Apple has Jason Momoa's new series, and CBS has Star Trek. The NBC service, which is called Peacock, debuts Ap...

New pics, trailer for NBC's Constantine series

The long running Hellblazer comic book is all but ready to make the leap onto the small screen this fall in the new TV series Constantine, and the network's marketing arm is well and truly in full swing. This weekend a nifty three-minute trailer appeared, giving audiences an impressive look at the program. And earlier today a couple of new pics of star Matt Ryan surfaced, promising the actor will at the very least look exactly like the popular anti-hero .

Six seasons and a movie; is Community headed to the big screen?

That's the rumour as Dan Harmon 's brilliant, but under seen,  NBC comedy nears the end of its fifth season. Although ratings remain consistently low, Community is one of the few comedies on the network's lineup to stand the test of time. Insiders at NBC and Sony are optimistic that Community will be back for a 13-episode sixth and final season . But what then? Word is Community could be resurrected on the big screen with director Justin Lin at the helm.

A first look at NBC's Constantine

We told you about the upcoming NBC TV adaptation of the popular Hellblazer comic  last fall . Well, the pilot for the series is shooting right now, and a first look at John Constantine himself has hit the Internet. Constantine is played by Matt Ryan and, as you'll see, he is very accurate to the comic-book character.

Constantine heads to TV

A quick hit for you on this Friday morn, popular DC Comics character John Constantine will once again leap off the comic page, this time as a TV series for NBC .  Episodes will follow the exploits of a reformed criminal trying to buy his way back into heaven by sending meddling demons straight to hell. No word yet on who will play Constantine , but the series will be navigated by screenwriter David S. Goyer ( Batman Begins ) and The Mentalist showrunner Daniel Cerone . I never read the comics, but am a big fan of the 2005 flick starring Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz (above). And I gotta admit, the subject matter is ripe for a series, although I'd of preferred Constantine found a home at HBO or AMC. NBC's Dracula series has a leading lady

Truth be told, I had no idea there was a Dracula TV series in the works. But, given the success of American Horror Story and the pending arrival of A&Es Bates Motel, horror television is hot right now. Why not cash in on Bram Stoker's classic? Jessica De Gouw (pictured above) will star opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Dracula. My guess is she plays Mina Harker. And yes, fans of CW's The Arrow, Jessica played The Huntress on that show. What's it about? Dracula arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. No word yet on when this hits the tele. Source: Deadline .
