So, a Star Wars/Avengers crossover?

Stan Lee, the mastermind behind Marvel Comics and the Marvel brand, seems to think an epic crossover between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars galaxy created by George Lucas could happen. Suffice to say, Stan Lee has quite the imagination!

Is this the Star Wars Episode VII subtitle?

The Empire Strikes Back , Return of the Jedi , Revenge of the Sith , The Phantom Menance , and *snicker* Attack of the Clones . These are the subtitles of the Star Wars saga . We'll disregard A New Hope because Star Wars was just called Star Wars when it first came out. Fuck you, George Lucas .

Trailer Rewind: Raiders of the Lost Ark

It's been too damn long since we've had an edition of Trailer Rewind. So I thought it might be wise to take a look back  . . . way back, at one of classics of the action/adventure genre, a movie that gave adventure a name -- Indiana Jones . That's right: Raiders of the Lost Ark ! The trailer: They don't make trailers like this anymore; simple, exciting, tells you everything you need to know about the movie without giving the whole damn thing away. All you need is to see Harrison Ford and have the names Steven Spielberg and George Lucas thrown at you (back in 1982 that is) and audiences are good to go. Plenty of shots of old-school action too. I think that's the voice of William Conrad . Sold. Actually, I want to watch this mother again! Right now! The movie: Like anything needs to be said. This is the first, and in my opinion, best Indian Jones adventure, although I have much love for Temple of Doom and Last Crusade . The less said about Crystal Skull...

Is George Lucas done?

Holy crap! Did our very own George Lucas Death Clock scare the Dark Lord of the Sith into retirement? Has The Basement prevailed and rid the world of the future ruination of the Indian Jones and Star Wars franchises? Check this out: “I’m retiring. I’m moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff.” That's what Lucas to The New York Times in an interview published online Tuesday morning. Sounds pretty promising doesn't it? Well, not really. Lucas goes on to say he's still leaving room for a possible fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise and he might go back to his THX 1138 roots and make experimental movies that would only be shown in art houses. You know, because everyone wants him to do that.   Still, there's hope that Lucas might finally be done tinkering with at least one of his popular franchises, which is fine by me. His new movie Red Tails hits theatres on Friday. And I don't care if I ever see it.

Lucas f--ks with Star Wars some more

Four words: George Lucas Death Clock. What is it? Something we're working on for Season Two. Why? Like you have to ask! Lucas is an asshole. Sure, he was God when were kids. He created one of the most beloved film franchises of all time when he made Star Wars. It turned almost an entire generation -- my generation -- into a generation of movie nerds. Star Wars is nerd porn. 'Nuff said. When he tinkered with the original trilogy and released the films in theatres in the late 90s people were so overjoyed at being able to watch the movies on the big screen again that they were willing to forgive the changes. Well, maybe not Han firing first but still. Then came the prequels and everyone realized what a tool Lucas is and how he doesn't give a flying fuck about his fanbase. Now the original trilogy is about to be released on Blu-Ray and guess what, he's fucked with them some more. First off, when Obi Wan saves Luke from the Sandpeople in Episode IV his scream has bee...

Star Wars Blu-Ray date announced

File this under Who Almost Cares? but the complete Star Wars saga hits Blu-Ray in one massive set or two smaller sets on Sept. 16. Shawn and I slammed the Blu-Ray release a couple of months back during our Who Cares? segment. It's not that we don't dig Star Wars because we do. The original trilogy is classic. It's everything George Lucas did with the franchise after that which is a tremendous piss off. We can't get all that mad at the series being released on Blu-Ray as it is the hot new format everything is converting too. That doesn't mean we're going to shell out $139.99 for the complete set or $69.99 for the trilogy sets. I've got the saga on DVD and am not giving Lucasfilm another damn dime. Listen folks: we're not telling you how to spend your hard-earned cash. But, if we stop giving Lucas money, he'll go away. We're just sayin' is all.
