Just because we think it's time Hollywood needs to focus on telling new, and interesting, stories doesn't mean Hollywood is listening.
A reboot of The Grudge is two weeks away, and the marketing machine is in full swing. I'm not sure if there's any demand for another Grudge movie. Although fans of the Asian original, and the 2004 remake, I know we're not excited for it here in The Basement, no matter how competently put together it looks.
Below is a clip from the film, featuring the talented John Cho. All the elements that made the Sarah Michelle Geller flick decent are on display here -- and this one takes place in the same universe as that one -- but I still can't get into it.

This Grudge is written and directed by Nicolas Pesce, and is once again produced by Sam Raimi. Cho is joined by Andrea Riseborough and Betty Gilpin. The film hits theatres Jan. 3.
