Aside from the fact the world hasn't screamed for a RoboCop remake, nor does it need one, this trailer isn't half bad. Not at all.
For one, Jose Padilha's flick brings enough new cards to the table that remaking a 26-year-old movie almost feels justified. And I dig the cast, including Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson. As for Alex Murphy/RoboCop, I'm curious to see what The Killing's Joel Kinnaman brings to the table. I certainly got me some goosebumps when he uttered that classic line, "Dead or alive, you're coming with me."
And yeah, the new suits looks better in motion, but can't hold a candle to the original.
Judge for yourselves, and sound off:
When Alex Murphy -- a loving husband, father and good cop -- is critically injured in the line of duty, the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer.
The new RoboCop hits theatres in February.
