I have yet to endure The Human Centipede: Full Sequence. It's something I will watch, but intend to put off for as long as possible. Shawn dug the shit out of it, so that means I will catch it eventually. Just. Not. Right. Now. But Tom Six, the depraved mind who wrote and directed the first two movies, has promised a third and final chapter. On Twitter. His latest tweet is, and I quote: Yes twitters. What happened to Lindsay stuck in between two corpses in # THC and Martin's strange # THC2 ending?: I will reveal all in # THC3 Yup. Swiped that shit right of the page. Wanna fight about it? But the real question is, how many people really care to watch another Human Centipede movie? Knowing what us horror nerds are like, it doesn't matter if we care or not. Remember when I said I wasn't interested in a second version of ass-to-lips gore porn? Well, what kind of "B" movie critics would we be if we didn't look into something like this? The first hour is an incredibly dark look at the main character, Martin. Where his intent is to finish the Dr.'s work from the first film, except Martin is not a doctor,(completely opposite from the first movie actually) and is coined "mentally retarded" by his own family doctor.  Who isn't so awesome in the head, himself. This is not a scary movie. However, the things they didn't show in the first movie, (happened off screen) you see in full view, in this one.  All be it black and white.(Minus a nice treat at the end...*shudders*)  The black and white really didn't ruin it. We're not huge fans of Tom Six's The Human Centipede: First Sequence here in The Basement, mostly because the movie didn't turn out to be as jaw droppingly disturbing as it was pertained to be. Once you get past the fact that it's about a shit-in-mouth human centipede the film is more meh than ick. For some reason The Human Centipede turned out to be a cult hit and you know what that means, we get a Human Centipede 2 with the subtitle The Full Sequence. Altitude Shawn: This isn't a monster movie. Or is it? There may have been a monster in it, or maybe not? I hate airplanes. I can't even fully explain why, but this movie does play on that fear. That said, it's a pretty weak movie despite an interesting idea and messed up ending. The beginning and end are great. Too bad nothing much happens in between. And the cliched characters got on my nerves really fast. A Bad movie for sure. Jason: A movie where the main idea is better than the end product. Altitude would have made a really great Twilight Zone episode, but there is not enough material here to sustain a feature film. The last 30 minutes, when we figure out what is going on and watch it all play out, are great, as is the opening scene. Too bad everything in between is pretty dull. A Bad rating for me on this one. Aerophobia, or a fear of flying, is not an uncommon affliction. And it makes perfect sense to be afraid of flying when a large tentacled monster is after the airplane you are in. Such is the concept for Altitude, a direct-to-DVD feature that recently appeared on video store shelves and VOD. Given that Shawn is not a fan of flying, nor I for that matter, it makes sense that we'd turn our executioner's axe on the film. Also on the chopping block tonight is The Human Centipede, a notorious Dutch horror film that is supposedly 100 per cent medically accurate in its depiction of how one makes, you guessed it, a human centipede.
