Zack Snyder's Justice League and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

In a world where opinions are facts, and friendships can be lost when differing points of view collide, what happens when two lifelong brothers disagree? Especially when it comes to one of the biggest debates of all time: what's better, DC Comics or Marvel? You'll find out on this, the latest podcast... From The Basement!  This week, Jason and Shawn dissect Zack Snyder's Justice League, the much touted and talked about director's cut of Warner Bros. 2017 film. That version was completed by Joss Whedon after Snyder's daughter died, and the movie was skewered by critics and fans alike. Now we've got Snyder's complete vision -- all four hours of it -- and DC fan Shawn, and Marvel fan Jason, square off on the film. Who liked it? Did either of them hate it? Stick with us! Stick with us you shall, as the Dynamic Duo also talk the latest Marvel Studios series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the Bigfoot flick Monstrous, and the horror/comedy Blood Fest. Plus Sha...

Dying Is Easy at the Boss Level while feeling Lucky

It's Friday night, and that means it's time to take things to the Boss Level as only Jason and Shawn can with another broadcast... From The Basement! The Basement Boys have a ton of stuff to catch up on when they take to the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Kamloops airwaves this eve, from YouTube content to streaming and feature films. On the YouTube side of things, our Dynamic Duo tackle the latest episode of Small Town Monsters ' On the Trail of Hauntings , and can't help but make comparisons to their own ghost hunting show, We Want to Believe ... but do so with the greatest respect. They also tune in to Bat in the Sun 's fan film Dying Is Easy. Is it the greatest Batman story ever told? Stick with us! And stick around for a discussion on the intricacies of Coming 2 America -- neither Jason nor Shawn have seen it yet, but they have stuff to say about it -- and comic-book films like Zack Snyder's Justice League, plus reviews of the new horror offerings The Vigil and Lu...

Justice League - Micro Review

Hello folks!  Shawn here.  Stepping into the basement, as needed, to add to the chaos that has befallen Justice League. While Jason and I will be forever divided by DC/Marvel - that isn't a bad thing.  Keeps it interesting.  It's the same with Star Trek/Star Wars...I can appreciate both, but have my favorites.  Subjectivity is divine! I've loved all things Marvel.  I've loved all things DC.  Perspective is key. Justice League does not deserve the negativity floating around about it.  People aren't seeing it, just because of the negative reviews.  I call BULLSHIT. This movie is every bit as good as any Marvel beginning! The best part is, it can compete!  As a comic book nerd (who hates to read), how could I not lap up every second of every comic adapted movie!?  Wanna bitch about CGI? You forget what you are watching? haha. Wanna bitch about "tones" and depth of character? - Forget what you are watching?  The founda...

Weekly Roundup: The Punisher teaser, Justice League "unwatchable" and that Obi-Wan Kenobi movie

Alright, the weekend is upon us and everyone's focused on some well-deserved R and R, and probably a liquor drink or six. But before we let you go -- at least until the next episode drops on Sunday -- we've got a few news items for your eye and ear holes. First up, how about that teaser for Netflix and Marvel's The Punisher that debuted at the tail end of The Defenders?

Amber Heard set for Aquaman, Justice League

My interest in the DC Cinematic Universe, or whatever they are gonna call it, just increased by a wide margin. Why? Because one of my all-time favourite screen hotties -- Amber Heard -- is in talks to join Batfleck and company in a number of upcoming movies inspired by DC Comics.

Shawn takes on Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I can do T.V. shows. Hell yeah. But due to my mental age , they are pretty simple. Take, for example, Green Lantern The Animated Series . I like the idea of Green Lantern. The live action movie wasn't terrible. But animation can just do things that movies can't. Especially in 22 minutes. Also, not really my mental age, but I've spent a lot of time breeding little humans. They are at the age when all this stuff is cool. We've started watching season 1 and I gotta tell ya, for superhero fans, this show kicks ass.

Will "Batman" actor "bale" on a "Justice League" movie?

One thing that entertainment news shows and websites have in common is that they report on rumours floating around the ether in regards to upcoming movie projects and the names that might possibly be attached to them. This article continues in that proud tradition of saying, "Here's some juicy movie gossip". In the wake of the extremely popular " Avengers " movie- and even before it, there has been rumours of Warner Bros. and DC Comics putting out a " Justice League " movie.  The current round of rumours surrounding this project are pretty much as follows: 1.  Warner Bros is courting Christopher Nolan of the recent " Dark Knight " trilogy to be involved with pretty much EVERY superhero project at the studio.  Nolan is also responsible for bringing Superman to audiences with " Man of Steel ".  This rumour has been enhanced by the fact that a re-write of the " Justice League " script was ordered a few months ago;...

Batman will be rebooted again!?! WTF!?!

That's right. Once Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises hits theatres in July 2012 plans are already in place to resurrect The Caped Crusader for a third time in 2013. But Batman isn't coming back in a solo film. Nolan has already said The Dark Knight Rises is the concluding chapter in his trilogy. The next incarnation of The Dark Knight will be in a Justice League movie. Warner Bros. tried to gather DC Comics' team of super heroes for a movie adaptation in 2007, but the project fell apart because of the writer's strike. Now they're trying again, with a release planned for 2013. The studio is following the Marvel route, with upcoming Superman and Green Lantern films setting the stage for the main event. The L.A. Times reports that standalone films for The Flash and Wonder Woman are also in the works. This all sounds a bit sudden to me given that it's 2011. That's a lot of cinematic ground to cover in two years. Word has it Nolan will somehow be in...
