Into the MCU: Spider-Man: Homecoming

Jay here taking over for Mike S as it's his birthday, and we all deserve a break on our birthdays.

But our trek Into the MCU must go on, so I'm stepping in for a look back at Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was the first feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to focus on our Friendly Neighbourhood Wall Crawler... with a little help from Tony Stark, who surprisingly provides the movie's conscience.

Robert Downey Jr. is awesome, as always. Just in case you're wondering...

Although some liberties were taken with the character -- including the inclusion of special suits provided by our man Tony -- this is still the best incarnation of the character ever put on screen. This is largely due to Tom Holland stepping into the tights as Spider-Man. He is THE BEST Spider-Man ever, finding the kid inside the costume which, I admit, brought out the kid inside me.

Spider-Man's adventures are supposed to be fun, and this movie is just that. There's equal measures of action and humour, and a hint of romance courtesy of Zendaya's MJ. And Michael Keaton brings the right amount of menace as The Vulture. He was a good Batman, but he plays great villains.

The movie also ties nicely into the MCU, using the leftover Chitauri tech from The Avengers as the springboard for The Vulture's power, and setting the stage for events to follow.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is an amazing -- pun intended -- adventure, and one of the best movies in the MCU. It has the spirit of Marvel Comics, and the Spidey stories in particular. It's a Good.

Top 5 quotes from the Rambo franchise

It's Rambo Day, which means it's a day we celebrate all things Rambo. And no, we didn't make that up. It's a real thing, and part of the lead in to Rambo: Last Blood coming out on Friday. We were going to celebrate by doing a Top 5 favourite Rambo kills, but the fine folks at Arrow in the Head already did something like that, so I figured why not share our favourite Rambo quotes. I like quotes. Quotes are good. Anyway, here we go with our Top 5, in no particular order: 5) "They drew first blood." - John Rambo, First Blood (1982) Because it's always cool when the hero references the title of the movie in a quote. 4) "Live for nothing, or die for something. Your call." - John Rambo, Rambo (2008) Because it's 100-per-cent truth, and is the exclamation mark on a great monologue by Stallone. 3) "I could have killed 'em all. I could kill you. In town, you're the law. Out here, it's me. Don't push it, or I'l...
