M is for Maggie and Machete Kills

It's catch-up time in The Basement as Jason, Shawn and Amy tackle a couple of somewhat recent releases that begin with the letter M.

Yeah, as the headline says, they're talking about Maggie and Machete Kills.

Maggie is of course Arnold Schwarzenegger's zombie film where he doesn't run around slaughtering undead hordes by the thousands. Instead, it's a drama about a man coming to terms with the fact his daughter is bitten and on her way to becoming one of the undead. Abigail Breslin plays the daughter.

Given the change of pace for Schwarzenegger, is Maggie a showcase for Arnold's acting chops, or a big, boring misfire? Stick with us!

Then, Jason and Shawn weigh in on the grindhouse action sequel Machete Kills, which critics and audiences destroyed upon release. But that's never stopped the Basement Boys from liking something. Do they dig Machete Kills? You'll have to listen and find out.

And finally, Jason and Amy take stock of the first few episodes of The X-Files revival. What does Amy, who has never watched a single episode before the event series launched, think? You know what to do.

That's right, push play on the player below and enjoy! And note, this is the final podcast-first episode before we return to 92.5 FM CFBX Kamloops!
