Mike S tweets The Fifth Element

Every Friday night our mad twit Mike S from the Corner of Terror will shanghai The Basement's Twitter account and tweet along to a non-horror movie, all for your Internet pleasure. Cool, yes!?! We think so.

On Feb. 8 he popped in the Luc Besson sci-fi flick The Fifth Element, starring the one and only Bruce Willis. Below are the wit and witticisms that made up his tweets. Enjoy!

Mike S here ready to tweet along to !

I think when I'm digging in "Minecraft," I'll randomly scream out, "Azis... light!"...

What HAS Luke Perry been up to lately?

I forgot these aliens had lights on their crotches...

This space ship reminds me a bit of the Star Destroyer from Star Wars... not just not as triangular...

"Send out a probe" is a line that often leads to being attacked in Sci-fi.

And enters the man, the legend- Corbin Dallas... taxi driver and saviour.

I'm going to be honest about this... Chris Tucker annoys me... alot.

I LOVE they guy who tries to rob Corbin Dallas. LOL

The Future: A time when a hand is considered a "survivor"...

Watching the reconstruction scene is like watching a 3D printer at work almost...

How would you react if you woke up and and found yourself in a plexiglass casket?

Never taunt an alien being... they'll whoop your ass...

Just like John McClane, Corbin Dallas is at the wrong place at the wrong time...

I wonder if Big Macs will still be made out of beef in the future...

: Never kiss a sleeping woman... they may point your own gun at you...

Why doesn't "Call of Duty" have the weapons that are in ? They'd be so fun to use!

One should never chug down water with a cherry in it... it's a choking hazard.

Something tells me Corbin Dallas is NOT the guy you want doing a "discrete" military mission...

Love the Princess Leia hair buns on the woman soldier. LOL

"Are you classified as human?" "Negative. I am a meat popsicle." LOL

Seriously, Chris Tucker's voice is soooo annoying...

Not sure I'd want to wear those hood things the pilots are wearing though. They clash a bit with the blue tunics.

: Ian Holm hanging upside down amongst a bunch of computer wires.

: Corbin Dallas's mom: "You miserable bastard- I never should've pushed you out." ROFL

The editing of the opera scenes and the fight scenes is just fantastic. Lots of energy and excitement!

After sticking his hand in the diva's stomach, I don't think Corbin Dallas will be able to return that tux...

"I know my man- he'll calm things down" *sounds of massive gunfire and screams*

OMG- Chris Tucker's squeal during the gun fight almost blew my speakers...

*headshot* "Anyone else want to negotiate?"

Hmmm... How come women don't shoot out laser beams when I kiss them?

With a shot of a naked Lee Lu and Corbin Dallas, we end ... and I'm giving it a Good!

Tune in to @camethebasement next Friday at 7 p.m. PST as Mike S. tweets to the Johnny Depp mob movie Public Enemies.

#CocktailHour: Slushtail

Summer approaches, inspiring thoughts of sunshine, backyard parties, and having a tip and sip with friends.  With that in mind, I bring you this week sunny beverage. To make a slushtail, mix a can of frozen orange juice, a can of frozen lemonade (or limeade), a can of pineapple juice, a couple cups of black tea (or English Breakfast), and two cups of bourbon- such as Southern Comfort, in a pitcher.  When it's all nicely mixed, put it in the freezer until it's a nice slushy consistency. Scoop the slush into a cocktail glass, and pour in some Sprite or 7-Up.  Add a little umbrella for some frivolous fun, and a straw. Voila!  Ready to enjoy. This is a very refreshing drink.  The fruit juices, Sprite, and bourbon- when chilled makes for a great punch-like drink.  The bourbon doesn't overwhelm juices.   In fact, they are all nicely balanced in terms of flavors.  The sourness of the citrus fruits contrasts well with the slightly sweeter Southern Comfort.  It was refreshing enou

Unlock your fate with The Puzzle

When my dad wasn't working, building stuff or being my dad, he was making puzzles. It was a guaranteed way for him to unwind. So it was with great interest that I sat down to watch Italian filmmaker Davide Melini's award-winning short The Puzzle. You see, the mother in the five-minute film likes to relax with puzzles just like my dad. Unfortunately, her good-for-nothing son keeps harassing her for money. Losing herself in her favourite passtime, the mother soon discovers that completing this puzzle might unlock a nightmare. The Puzzle has been an official selection at more European film festivals than you can shake a stick at, and was voted Third Best Italian Film at the Rome International Film Festival in 2008. Having watched it, I'm not surprised. It's a tight little film that hits you hard in the final few seconds. You can tell Melini cut his teeth as an assistant director for legendary Italian filmmaker Dario Argento. But enough chit chat on my part. See if yo

The Animated Addict: "The Adventures of Tintin" (2011)

If you're a 40 + white dude, like myself, you may remember a comic series called " The Adventures of Tintin ".  I know I remember them.  This series, dating back to 1929, got turned into a animated feature film by Steven Spielberg in 2011. After buying a model of ship called The Unicorn, teenaged journalist Tintin finds himself on adventure that will take him from the high seas, to the low deserts, and from the distant past to the present.  With his trusty dog, Snowy, by his side, Tintin uncovers a story connecting two men across the centuries.. . The story is really quite good.  It's well crafted, and high paced- with just enough slow moments to build and develop the world and the characters.  This is the sort of adventure story you'd find in the old serials of the 1930's and '40's.  In fact, it felt like it was the sort of tale that you'd find Indiana Jones undertaking.  I found myself swept up, and swept along as our hero swung from one e
