Basement contributor Matt Bellamy has taken it upon himself to watch and review at least one horror movie a day for the month of October . . . because he's awesome that way! And he's kicking things off right with a look at Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 version of Bram Stoker's Dracula.
A gothic horror masterpiece from Francis Ford Coppola, starring Anthony Hopkins, Winona Ryder, Gary Oldman and KEANU REEVES! His "attempt" at a British accent alone is worth a viewing, very comical, but this movie is extremely entertaining and stylishly directed, also containing a terrifically creepy performance from Gary Oldman as the Count himself. A great flick to kick things off!
I quite enjoyed this movie, myself- though I found myself chuckling at Reeves' accent more than once. LOL
ReplyDeleteWorst. Accent. Ever. Surfer dude meets lofty toff.
ReplyDeleteThe only movie of his I liked was the FIRST "Bill & Ted" movie. In pretty much every single movie, he shows very little emotion facially and vocally... just bland acting in general.
