On Oct. 14 Jason and Shawn will broadcast their feature interview with up-and-coming filmmaker Ryan Shovey, who has just embarked on the awesome endeavor of raising money to get his first film off the ground.
And Ryan isn't making no two-actor-sitting-in-one-room-talky-boring drama. No, this boy loves horror, and he's going the route of James Wan, Wes Craven and John Carpenter before him . . . he's making a slasher movie. A slasher movie called Hunter.
In order to secure funding, Ryan and co-screenwriter Ross Algana want to make a short film to show investors what they can do with little money and a lot of ambition. Ryan's made a number of short films, including an award-winning version of Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart, so he knows what he's doing. The hope is the short will generate buzz and get the production off the ground in much the same way as shorts for Saw, District 9 and Napoleon Dynamite did.
Jason had a great talk with Ryan, and this is a project worthy of support. To learn more, head over to the official website and read all about the film. We've also included a video below of Ryan explaining who he is and what Hunter is all about!
So go on, get out there and help get Hunter made!
