Is Jeff Bridges reprising The Dude for a mystery project?

The Big Lebowski is one of the Coen Brothers' best films. Period. Hands down. Bar none. And a HUGE part of the film's success is due to Jeff Bridges' iconic turn as The Dude, that White-Russian slurping, perpetually stoned bowler. Granted, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and John Turturro are also amazing, but The Dude is, well The Dude, man.

A tease for 24: Live Another Day

God bless the Super Bowl and its awesome commercials. This is one that slipped under my radar, but fans of the long-running Keifer Sutherland series 24 -- and they are legion -- are probably all over this. The 12-episode event series 24: Live Another Day debuts May 5, and brings back action hero Jack Bauer , who battled terrorists for eight season on the Emmy winning series.

Some Super Bowl spots for your eye holes

Alright, the Super Bowl is over (Go Hawks), now it's time to catch the Big Game Spots for some of the year's most anticipated flicks. We've got Transformers: Age of Extinction, Captain America: The Winter Soldier , Need for Speed and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Personally, these spots sell me on almost all of the movies, even though I never saw the last Transformers nor The Amazing Spider-Man. Might have to rethink my thinking.

Enough with the previews for previews already

A trend has developed during the last couple of years, a trend of teasing movie trailers. You know, those things that play before a flick that's supposed to make you want to watch the damn thing? Well, seems it's not enough to have a trailer anymore, or even a teaser trailer . Now Hollywood thinks we need a trailer for the damn trailer. What do you need a trailer for a trailer for? Isn't that the teaser trailer's job?

The Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl spot

A must watch if ever there was one! This 30-second spot hit just minutes ago, and it's bad to the ass. "I am better," promises main bad dude Benedict Cumberbatch , and I have a feeling this sequel to the J.J. Abrams Star Trek from 2009 will be just that -- better. In every way. But why take my word for it? Watch this spot and enjoy! After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction . The Avengers Super Bowl spot

One of the best things about the Super Bowl (aside from the cheerleaders) are the commercials. And some of the best commercials are for the upcoming big summer movie blockbusters. For a football and movie geek like me, it's all win. We've snagged the Super Bowl spot for the upcoming super hero epic The Avengers and, while it doesn't show a lot, it makes me even more psyched to see this movie. The concept of all these great characters played by all these great actors from a series of already decent movies in one fucking movie is just too awesome to comprehend. It's enough to give one an aneurysm. There it goes! Anyway, check out the spot below and geek out to the goodness. This movie has a lot riding on it, but I have a feeling it will deliver . . . I hope. Marvel, don't fail me now!!

Witness the first Avenger

Those of you who were lucky enough to catch the Super Bowl (damn you localized snowstorm!) on Sunday also caught a glimpse of the Big Game teaser for the Captain America movie. I didn't get to watch the preview until late yesterday and was blown away by the footage. It has an old-school vibe befitting the World War 2 era and appears to have captured the feel of the original Captain America comics. I like how Chris Evans comes across both pre-super serum and after. It's great to see The Howling Commandos make an appearance and who doesn't dig the brief glimpse we get of The Red Skull? Naturally, we must hold our excitement in check pending the film's release this summer. But my anticipation level has ramped up considerably for Captain America. The movie is due out July 22.
