Halloween Day by Day: Top Five Horror Funko Pops I Want

If you're a collector, then you're all aware of what Funko Pops are- "cute" little figures based on all sorts of movie, television, and comic book characters.  Well, I've compiled a list of the Top Five Horror Funko Pops I Want... Alien Face Hugger-  Let's start with one from one of my favorite franchises: "Aliens".  The Face Hugger is an iconic alien terror that brings tremors of fear to pretty much anyone that thinks about what it does to you. But hey, it's also giving you free hugs, so it's not ALL bad... right? I don't think a collector of "Aliens" merch would wish to NOT have this one in their inventory. And let's face it... it's kinda cute... in a creepy sort of way, right? Right Ash-  Seriously, given my love of horror and comedy, you all had to expect that Ash from the "Evil Dead" franchise would be on this list. This one just looks really cool, with Ash bearing his trademark boomst...

It board game coming this fall

Board games are back in a big way, with manufacturers more than willing to take classic movies and books and adapt them to the concept. My wife got me Who Goes There? last fall, and it's an awesome adaptation of the classic John Campbell novel that become John Carpenter's The Thing. Yup, there's a Thing board game, and it's awesome! Now we've got It: Evil Below heading our way just in time for Warner Bros.'s sequel to the monster -- pun intended -- 2017 film, and it sounds pretty rad.

Teaser for It: Chapter 2 promises the end of... It

Ohboyohboyohboy! Does this teaser for the much anticipated It: Chapter 2 ever sell... it! The first film is, in my mind, and the in the minds of many others, a modern horror classic. A tough act to follow, in other words. But we only got half the story, so a sequel was required.

Halloween Day By Day: IT- Chapter One (2017)

One of the most talked about horror movies in 2017 was the most recent adaptation of Stephen King's " IT ". Well, it's 2018, and I'm going to be talking about it. What?  Too soon?

Why It is so good

By now, many, many people have seen the big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's It. To the tune of $117 million -- the largest opening for a horror movie ever. There are a lot of reasons for It's success (see what I did there?). It's arguably King's best-known work, and most liked. So that plays a big part. And the movie was well marketed by Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.

It trailer provides summertime chills

It's 34 C outside right now, which in U.S. terms is something like 80 F. It's F-ing hot out! But despite the dry heat, the new trailer for It managed to provide me with more than a few chills. For one, hearing some creepy kid say "you'll float too" over and over and over and over and over again is, well, creepy. Plus, I'm very familiar with Stephen King's source material, having recently re-read It in anticipation of this adaptation hitting screens. And the book, folks, is . . . creepy.
