Camp Dread director unites horror icons for Death House

That's right, our pal Harrison Smith has brought together Robert England, Danny Trejo, Dee Wallace, Doug Bradley and a many, many more of horror's familiar faces for an upcoming fright film that should please any genre fan. Long-time listeners and readers will remember Harrison has the man behind 6 Degrees of Hell and Camp Dread, two flicks Shawn and I enjoyed. And he was responsible for us interviewing Corey Feldman and Eric Roberts, which are high marks in Basement history.

Bo Duke assembles "The Expendables of Horror" for Smothered

Y'all remember Bo Duke , one of the titular heroes of The Dukes of Hazard , don't you? Well Bo, AKA actor/director John Schneider , has rounded up some of horror's most famous faces for his upcoming comedy Smothered. Dubbed The Expendables of Horror, Kane Hodder , Don Shanks , R.A. Mihailoff , Bill Mosely and Brea Grant star in the flick as themselves. Word has it this is the largest gathering of horror icons in one film ever.

So it's refreshing when a filmmaker tries something different, something a little more ambitious. Christian Grillo is just such a writer/director, and next month his sci-fi/noir thriller Apocalypse Kiss debuts on DVD and VOD .

Two new images from Rob Zombie's the Lords of Salem

Get ready horror nerds, Rob Zombie 's latest foray into fucked up will hit April 26 courtesy of those fine bastards at Anchor Bay Entertainment . To celebrate, we're showing off two -- count 'em two -- pics from The Lords of Salem . The images feature Zombie fave Sid Haig ( House of 1,000 Corpses ) and genre veteran Michael Berryman as a couple of witch hunters. Because the movie is about witches and shit. What's the official line on The Lords of Salem? Residents of Salem, Massachusetts are visited by a 300-year-old coven of witches. Zombie's wife, Sheri Moon Zombie , plays a key role in the mayhem that follows. Now for those pics, mofos!
