BIGFOOT HUNT Part 4 of 4 (2021) - We Want to Believe

Lead investigator Peter Renn returns as We Want to Believe’s investigation into local Bigfoot lore comes to a close. This time, the team ventures into the deep woods with Indigenous artist and storyteller Chris Bose for an overnight attempt to make contact with the legend using wood knocks, and a recording of a baby crying. But their efforts put them in contact with something… else in the darkened forest. Writer/director’s statement: This episode isn’t only the culmination of We Want to Believe’s Hunt for Bigfoot, but it’s the pinnacle of the work we’ve done on our first season of the show. Everything I ever wanted the series to be is here: an accurate portrayal of a paranormal investigation and cryptid expedition, the humour and camaraderie of the team, a moody atmosphere, and a few chilling moments, with nary a false scare or gotcha moment to be found. I hope viewers enjoy it. Here's some pics from the latest episode: Chris Bose returns as our guide into the woods. What has lead ...

We Want to Believe: The Hunt for Bigfoot Part 2 (2021)

Acclaimed paranormal podcaster Shannon LeGro and renowned cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard provide background research and insight in this episode, which follows the We Want to Believe team on an expedition to a remote lake. Guided by an avid outdoorsman who’s experienced wood knocks at the location year after year, Jason, Shawn and Marcus hope to capture evidence of Bigfoot communication on film. Along the way they must contend with dense forest, leaky boats, and a potential encounter with the creature itself! Writer/director statement: I’ve enjoyed every investigation We Want to Believe has been on, but I don’t think any of them has been this much fun to film. A long, slow drive up a mountain to the middle of nowhere, a tough trek through mud and bugs to a remote lake, and then trying not to drown while boating to the alleged spot where the wood knocks were heard. This was an absolute blast to shoot! And to have Shannon and Ken provide background on the phenomena was icing on the cake. ...

We Want to Believe: Bigfoot Hunt Part 1 (2021)

When you’re a paranormal investigation show filming smack dab in the middle of Bigfoot country, it makes sense to go on a Bigfoot hunt.  And that’s exactly what the We Want to Believe team do in this, the first of a three-part adventure that finds the team in search of The Hide and Seek Champion of the World!  In this introductory episode, writer/director Jason Hewlett explores the Bigfoot legend, its origins, and why the topic fascinates him. He and investigator Sarah Jane join Chris Bose, and Indigenous storyteller who’s steeped in Bigfoot lore, on an outing where he describes a terrifying encounter he had with the creature, setting the stage for the hunt to come! Writer/director statement: Growing up in Bigfoot country, I’ve been fascinated by stories about the monster since I was a boy. Episodes of In Search of and Arthur C. Clarke’s Mysterious World which feature Sasquatch warranted repeated viewing, and I bought and read whatever books I could on the subject. When Indige...

The Craft meets Suspiria in Uncork'd Entertainment's Coven

I'm not gonna lie, the marketing folks behind Uncork'd Entertainment's latest, Coven, had me at sexy witches. Because of course they did. And that's exactly what Coven -- a blend of The Craft and Suspiria -- is going for. Hot women + black magic = sold! Five undergrad witches (are there any other kind?) come together to perform a ritual to invoke the ancient powers of the witch, Ashura. The leader of the coven gets carried away and accidentally kills one of the witches during the ritual. She needs the strength of a complete coven to invoke Ashura's powers, and sends the other members to find a final witch. Check out the exploitative goodness here, courtesy of our friends at JoBlo : Coven stars Lizze Gordon, Jennifer Cipolla, Margot Major, Adam Horner and Terri Ivan. The film is directed by Margaret Malandruccolo, so don't get all #MeToo on us for being turned on. The film hits DVD and Digital July 14. Source: Uncork'd Entertainment

Behold... Conrad the Bavarian Ep. 1

JoBlo and Arrow in the Head just debuted their first original YouTube series, Conrad the Bavarian... and it's a thing of gruesome, goofy beauty! From German independent filmmakers Robin and Nicolas Huck -- AKA The Huckbros -- this episode has the duo play... well, pretty much everybody as Hitler's grandson attempts to steal an occult artifact from beneath Conrad's house. Why? Because it's one of five artifacts that can bring Hitler back to life. You got all that? Now watch and enjoy: Good stuff, yes? Ja! A nice mashup of grindhouse sensibilities and video-game aesthetic, all in the name of a good time. Look for Ep. 2 to appear April 21, and each subsequent episode every two weeks after that. Congrats to Robin and Nicolas, and producer John Fallon and executive producer Berge Garabedian. You've got a good one on your hands. Source: JoBlo Horror Videos
