Showing posts with the label Film poster

UPDATED: First Fast & Furious 7 teaser poster hits the web

Well, it seems like that cool poster below is fan made and was released via a fake Vin Diesel Twitter account. How do we know this? Because director James Wan said so via his Twitter account . And it's the real deal. He also acknowledges it's a pretty damn good poster! Our bad, and sorry if we got anyone too excited :) Here is the original post:

The Conjuring scares up this creepy poster

Yesterday we showed you how asstacular movie posters can get with the crappy one sheet for The Wolverine (the trailer is much, much better BTW). Today, we in The Basement proudly display how a studio can get it right. Now isn't that a thing of beauty? It shows what a studio -- in this case Warner Bros/New Line Cinema -- does when it has faith in its product. The execs know director James Wan has a hit on his hands. Advancing screenings have been through the roof. So why not give the film a glorious poster? Roger ( Ron Livingston ) and Carolyn ( Lili Taylor ) Perron buy a farmhouse to share with their daughters. At first, it just seems like your ordinary fixer-upper. But then strange noises and inexplicable disturbances start. Soon the Perrons realize the place is crammed with spirits, the worst being Bathsheba Sherman, a “godforsaken soul” of a witch hanged on the property. The family turns to famed paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren (Vera Farmiga and ...

New poster for The Wolverine makes ninjas look bad

Wow, I've seen some shit movie posters in my day, but this takes shit to a whole new level. And I don't write that lightly, as not only am I big fan of ninjas, but I dig Hugh Jackman and his interpretation of  Wolverine in the X-Men movies and the character's solo big screen outing from a few years back. But this poster is garbage. Pure Adobe Photoshop garbage. It's ugly. No, it's fugly . . . as in fucking ugly. See what I mean? Come on, 20th Century Fox marketing people, you can do better than this. Take a few minutes break from your hookers and blow, commission an artist to draw something that's befitting one of your tent pole franchises, and Bob's your uncle. In this sequel, Wolverine faces his ultimate nemesis -- and tests of his physical, emotional, and mortal limits -- in a life-changing voyage to modern-day Japan. James Mangold directs the flick, which hits theatres July 26. Source: Crave Online Related articles New 'The W...

The teaser poster for Stallone/Schwarzenegger's The Tomb

Any fan of 80s action has got to be looking forward to the upcoming Sylvester Stallone - Arnold Schwarzenegger team up The Tomb. How could you not be? It's two of the biggest action icons ever together in the whole movie. No cameos. Star turns. More testosterone than any sane person can handle. The flick doesn't hit until Sept. 27, but we've got the first teaser poster for the film. And it's . . . the heads of the stars. And some words. But that's fine. The hype machine has to start somewhere, and one can do worse than this. It's a nice poster that sells what we're going to pay to see -- Stallone and Schwarzenegger in a movie called The Tomb. Observe: Anywho, it's Saturday night and I gotta get my drink on. Enjoy the poster and remember, Mike S is in charge for the next six-ish weeks. He says "Boo-yah! How you like me now!?!"
