Scream Factory unveils Darkman Blu-ray specs

Not ashamed to admit it, there was a time when Sam Raimi 's Darkman was my all-time favourite movie. While that is no longer the case, I still have a lot of mad love for his quirky and violent comic-book style movie. So I am beyond pumped to see Scream Factory giving the Liam Neeson action vehicle a proper Blu-ray release Feb. 18. And I will be adding this to my collection, mark my words. Check out what's on it: Interviews with Liam Neeson and Frances McDormand MY NAME IS DURANT – interview with Larry Drake THE FACE OF REVENGE – interview with Makeup Designer Tony Gardner HENCHMAN TALES – Interviews with actors Danny Hicks and Dan Bell DARK DESIGN – interview with Production Designer Randy Ser and Art Director Philip Dagort Audio Commentary with director of photography Bill Pope Vintage “Making of” and interview Featurettes featuring interviews with Sam Raimi, Liam Neeson, Frances McDormand and more… Vintage full-length interv...

Official synopsis surfaces for The Pact 2

By now it should be no secret that I loved the shit out of The Pact , a creepy little movie that demands attention and multiple viewings . . . because it's shorts shitting entertainment at its finest. The Basement revealed a few weeks back that a sequel is in the works . And while I was initially excited for writer Dallas Hallam and director Patrick Horvath's follow up, the synopsis leaves me a little cold. Read on: “ Only a few weeks after Annie Barlow exterminated the plague that was the Judas Killer, we meet June, a woman whose carefully constructed life in Los Angeles is beginning to unravel due to lucid nightmares so awful they disturb her waking life. When Special Agent Kevin Dickey, the FBI agent assigned to wrap up the case of the newly deceased Judas Killer shows up at June’s door, he brings with him some terrifying news – there is a Judas copycat killer on the loose in her neighborhood! In the course of his investigation, Dickey shows June a picture...

Marcus Dunstan is ready to unleash The Collected

Shawn and I are ready to share our thoughts on The Collection -- the sequel to Marcus Dunstan 's The Collector -- tomorrow night (same Bat time, same Bat channel). The Collector was an OK horror outing, but The Collection is supposed to take things to the next level. Now we've learned that Dunstan has written a third film in the series. And he shared some deets with the folks at Crave Online . Here's what he had to say: "It is Collected right now. The first movie sets up The Collector, the second movie is about The Collector’s collection, and the third movie is about a couple of people he has collected," Dunstans said. He continued, "We already have written a little origin, and the origin -- if we ever are so fortunate as to make that -- really kind of answers everything in about five minutes. So I think that would be fun, to see it. And then you just understand, oh, here are some of the iconic visuals that we’ve anchored around this villain...

Check out Carrie's PE report card

The world will have to wait until Oct. 18 to see director Kimberly Peirce 's retelling of the Stephen King novel, but you can check out how Carrietta White performs in physical education right now. That's right, the Carrie remake's viral campaign is in full swing over at the film's Facebook page. While I'm sure someone in the Sony marketing department thinks this is a clever way to sell the movie, I'm not so sure. I mean, a report card? Really? Actually, movie marketing in general is going a bit overboard, don't you think? Teaser trailers for teaser trailers ? Clips up the wazoo? Movie stills galore? Viral crap like this? It almost makes one sick of the movie before it even has a chance to hit theatres. Sure, they open big. But who gives a shit? Anyway, the new Carrie tells the story of a sheltered high school girl who unleashes her newly developed telekinetic powers after being pushed too far by her peers. Wait a minute . . .? That sounds like ...
