Katherine Heigl returns to horror in Fear of Rain

Remember when Katherine Heigl was the next big thing? And, for a while, she was. But lately she's been relegated to some TV work and movies few have seen. Heigl, who got her start in Under Siege 2 and Bride of Chucky, is looking to return to her genre roots with the upcoming Fear of Rain. The film is about a teenage girl who struggles with schizophrenia and vivid hallucinations as she begins to suspect her neighbour has kidnapped a child. Her parents try desperately to help her live a normal life, without exposing their own tragic secrets, and the only person who believes her is Caleb -- a boy she isn't even sure exists. Sounds decent, and I'm suspecting Heigl plays one of the parents. Harry Connick Jr., Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home) and Israel Broussard (Happy Death Day) also star. Fear of Rain is written and directed by Castille Landon, and is currently in post production. Voltage Pictures is handling the film at the forthcoming Cannes market. Source: ...

Bong Joon-Ho's Parasite promises a twisted tale

When I hear of a movie called Parasite from the guy who made The Host, I expect one thing. Having just watched the trailer, I did not get what I expected. At all. No monsters, at least in those couple of minutes. But it does look like a film that will be intense, funny and has something to say about class. Given it won the Palme d-Or at Cannes, Parasite is not crap. All the praise spread throughout the preview also cements this is probably a must see for any true cinephile. Give it a watch: Parasite screens at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, and opens in U.S. and Canadian theatres Oct. 11. Source: Neon

John Fallon's The Shelter heads to Cannes

We haven't talked about our bro John Fallon's debut feature film The Shelter for a long-ass time because, well, we technically took our ball and went home. But we're back, and we've got some exciting news about the flick. You know, the one Shawn scored the music to and stars Michael Pare? Yeah, that one.

Action script Eye See Death hits Cannes

Remember that special project I was working on? The one Shawn, Mike S and I have alluded to for months? Well, the motherfucker's going to the Cannes Film Festival ! John Fallon gave the official word today on his blog and over at Arrow in the Head . And now we can tell you the action/horror flick Eye See Death, which co-stars John and French star Rurik SallĂ©, will be a presence at the renowned film fest. I wrote the script ( just finished actually) from a story by John and Rurik and can tell you it's a mix of the slasher genre, crime-thriller, and 80s/90s style buddy-cop flick. Excited? Then here's the official synopsis: New York. One year, ten women brutally stabbed to death in their homes. This is the work of the serial killer the media have dubbed ‘The Uptown Slasher’, and it’s a case that has become an obsession for no-nonsense homicide cop Shane Carter (Fallon). In France , the maverick Inspecteur Malterre (SallĂ©) has dedicated a good portion of...
