Katherine Heigl returns to horror in Fear of Rain

Remember when Katherine Heigl was the next big thing? And, for a while, she was. But lately she's been relegated to some TV work and movies few have seen.

Heigl, who got her start in Under Siege 2 and Bride of Chucky, is looking to return to her genre roots with the upcoming Fear of Rain.

The film is about a teenage girl who struggles with schizophrenia and vivid hallucinations as she begins to suspect her neighbour has kidnapped a child. Her parents try desperately to help her live a normal life, without exposing their own tragic secrets, and the only person who believes her is Caleb -- a boy she isn't even sure exists.

Sounds decent, and I'm suspecting Heigl plays one of the parents. Harry Connick Jr., Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home) and Israel Broussard (Happy Death Day) also star.

Fear of Rain is written and directed by Castille Landon, and is currently in post production. Voltage Pictures is handling the film at the forthcoming Cannes market.
