Bad CGI Sharks, Good Boys and 47 Meters Down: Uncaged

Just when they thought the film industry had run out of original and interesting ideas, along comes Bad CGI Sharks to prove Jason and Shawn wrong. That's right, Bad CGI Sharks: the new sharksploitation comedy from Matthew and Jason Ellsworth and Matteo Molinari. But it's not only a Deadpool-like spoof of shark movies; it's a commentary on filmmaking, brotherhood and being creative despite what anyone says. A pretty heady mix for a movie called Bad CGI Sharks, right? So what do Jason and Shawn think of it? Is the movie worth your time and money? Are there boobies? Stick with us! And stick around as the Basement Boys catch up with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Aladdin and talk gateway horror. There's also a wee bit of movie news for your ear holes as well. Add this morning's segment from the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show and you've got yourself a podcast, one finely tuned to hit you right in your entertainment centre! So push play, and enjoy! ...

The Katherine Munroe interview, Aladdin, and Possession Diaries

Watching a talented actor for the first time is a treat for movie fans. Seeing them excel in their first lead role -- in a feature film no less -- is a gift. Such is the case with Katherine Munroe in the upcoming Possession Diaries. And here's a treat for Basement Dwellers everywhere: From The Basement not only reviews Katherine's first feature film, but has an exclusive interview with the star as well.

Aladdin is Booksmart and will Brightburn

Did you know the upcoming live action Aladdin movie is directed by Guy Ritchie? Or does it matter? These are the questions Jason and Howie ask themselves at about 8:40 this morning when From The Basement storms the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show.

Captive State, Five Feet Away and Wonder Park

The Basement Boys return with another extended cut podcast full of the latest entertainment news, reviews and attitude one has come to expect from Jason and Shawn! You get this morning's segment from the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show with Howie Reimer. That's where Jason and Shawn run down the weekend's big movie releases; releases like Captive State with John Goodman, Five Feet Away, and the animated Wonder Park.

Jason and Shawn versus Crawlspace

Jason: There are moments when I contemplate taking The Basement into the mainstream. You know, reviewing all the Hollywood blockbusters that come our way in order to achieve more success and bigger ratings blah blah blah. Then flicks like Crawlspace come along and remind me why we do what we do. This is an under-the-radar sci-fi/action/horror movie with blood and beasts galore. Yeah it's low budget, but it's awesome. It's got everything B-movie loving Basementites want in a flick, except boobs. Although you do get ample cleavage thanks to Amber Clayton, which counts in Basement terms. This is a satisfying watch, and one I'd do again. Take note, Basementites. A Good, for sure. Shawn: Well now here is something from Aladdin 's treasure. That "diamond in the rough". I'll start off with saying it's a Good. Wanna know why? Because, first of all, someone like us AND someone who LIKES us, works for Netflix . All the movies we like show up ther...
