Bond producer confirms next 007 will be male

The upcoming No Time to Die will be Daniel Craig's fifth -- and final -- turn as James Bond, which has led to much speculation about who will fill his considerable shoes. I know he has his detractors, but Craig is my favourite Bond since Sean Connery. His act will be a tough one to follow. Many successors have been tossed around of late, with folks suggesting everyone from Idris Elba to Henry Cavill should play 007. And there has been a strong push from some who suggested James Bond should be Jane Bond, and a woman take on the role. The casting of Lashana Lynch as a new 00 in No Time to Die has furthered that speculation. Well, long-time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has confirmed the next Bond will indeed be played by a man, and explained why: "He can be of any color, but he is male. I believe we should be creating new characters for women -- strong female character. I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and have a woman play it. I think ...

Bond has No Time to Die in a wild new trailer

We teased it, and now we get to reveal it to the masses. The full trailer for No Time to Die is here, and it's a thing of visceral beauty. When we last left Bond... James Bond... he'd quit the spy game and retired with his lady love. That was five years ago, and a lot has changed. Now 007 is called back into service to face a new threat in the form of Oscar winner Rami Malek, and trade barbs with a mysterious 00. I could say more, but pictures work better than words any day... This. Looks. Awesome. If this is truly Daniel Craig's last ride as Bond, it looks like he'll go out on an action-packed note. We'll find out for sure when No Time to Die hits theatres April 8, 2020. Also, I need to get me a vehicle with gatling guns behind the headlights... Source: James Bond

No Time to Die gets teased

Remember when there were just movie trailers? One trailer. About three months before the movie came out. That's it. Now there's multiple trailers and even teasers for the trailer itself. It's a surprise we haven't seen the movie by the time it actually comes out. That being said, I proudly present this teaser for the upcoming James Bond flick No Time to Die. The trailer actually comes out on Wednesday, but they've teased it here. And like I sucker I watched it, and share it with you now: This is Daniel Craig's final bow as 007, at least as of this writing. Given he's my favourite Bond since Sean Connery, I find this upcoming entry in the series -- the 25th in total -- to be a big event. Hopefully No Time to Die is better than Spectre. If it could be Skyfall good, I'd be happy. No Time to Die opens April 8, 2020. Source: James Bond

Dr. Action reviews Skyfall

So Skyfall came out yesterday in the UK, its been four years since 007 last lit up the silverscreen. Quantum of Solace left a lot of people cold, I myself enjoyed it, but in all honesty I’m a huge Bond fan. Every British lad wants to be Bond, and if they don’t....well their liars, so lets say the audience reception to QOS was, let's say, stale. Bond had to step up. What of the plot, well I can’t say too much, that would be unsporting. First up, Bond of old always had a great opening, well this is no different. This one sets up the storyline perfectly, Bond starts to question just how expendable a secret agent can be and who he can trust, M? Which leads to our villain of the picture, here portrayed by an excellent Javier Bardem. He appears to have a very personal grudge against M, one which sees MI6 being blown up. Well there is only one super agent who can save Blighty, thats right -- 007. Like Bond of old, we go globetrotting to find the culprit. Also we have a new Q, a welcome a...

Seven minutes of Thomas Newman's Skyfall score

The marketing peeps behind the latest James Bond flick have got it right -- instead of beating us to death with clips and previews that show us too much of the movie, they're giving us the music instead. And what great music it is. Last week it was Adele's opening song, this week it's some of Thomas Newman's score. I dug Adele's tune, and I like me what I hear below. I don't know a lot about music, but this has a little bit of everything. There's classical melodies, modern action notes and the obligatory nods to Bond's theme. Now to see the images behind the musical notes. The plot: Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.  Daniel Craig returns as 007 on Nov. 9.

Hear a minute and a bit of Adele's Skyfall song

My wife is a big Adele fan, so this bit of news tickled her fancy to no end. And, even as a die hard metal head, I'm pretty damn impressed myself. Below is a minute and 29 seconds of the award winning songstress's song from the upcoming James Bond flick Skyfall. And it's awesome. We've got her sultry voice blended with some of the classic 007 theme. I have no doubt the rest of the tune is going to sound brilliant over the opening credits. As if we all weren't excited for Nov. 9 already . . . Skyfall finds Bond's loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes join Daniel Craig in the latest outing. Now have your ear holes pleasured by Adele. That's right, I said it.

James Bond and the full Skyfall trailer are here

Just yesterday I bitched about what a poor job 20th Century Fox has done selling us Taken 2. Today I have nothing but praise for the brainchilds behind the marketing of the latest 007 caper. This . . . this is an awesome trailer. Everything about Skyfall sings of quality -- from the cast to the storyline to the wonderfully shot action scenes. I haven't been this excited about a Bond movie since the first glimpse of Casino Royale. Ironic that both films star Daniel Craig, the best Bond since Sean Connery. Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.  This is a great way to sell a movie! Watch and enjoy! Skyfall arrives in theatres Nov. 9.

007 reporting for duty; the Skyfall Olympics spot

Not a huge fan of the Olympics (Shame, I know. But suck it) but I am a huge fan of this awesome TV spot for the upcoming James Bond flick Skyfall. Why? Because it's Bond, James Bond, dammit. And Craig, Daniel Craig, dammit. It's been too long since we've seen Craig as Bond. And Sam Mendes is one hell of a director. This should be a match made in action-spy heaven. Skyfall finds Bond's loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. The latest Bond hits theatres Nov. 9.

Bond back in 2012

MGM's financial problems have put Bond's, James Bond's, latest adventure on the backburner for years. The films usually follow a release pattern of every two years, meaning another installment was due this fall. Alas, no dice. Now Deadline is reporting that production is slowly moving forward on 007's latest and the film is scheduled for release in November 2012, provided the Mayan apocalypse doesn't get us all first. Daniel Craig, arguably the best Bond since Connery, Sean Connery, is back. As is director Sam Mendes, who was scheduled to take the helm before all this financial crap got in the way a couple of years back. No word yet on the plot or villain, but there's still lots of time for that to come together.
