Seven minutes of Thomas Newman's Skyfall score

The marketing peeps behind the latest James Bond flick have got it right -- instead of beating us to death with clips and previews that show us too much of the movie, they're giving us the music instead. And what great music it is.

Last week it was Adele's opening song, this week it's some of Thomas Newman's score. I dug Adele's tune, and I like me what I hear below.

I don't know a lot about music, but this has a little bit of everything. There's classical melodies, modern action notes and the obligatory nods to Bond's theme. Now to see the images behind the musical notes.

The plot: Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Daniel Craig returns as 007 on Nov. 9.
