Rene Perez brings Havoc to The Basement

On last week's show Shawn, Amy and I reviewed Cry Havoc, an action/horror mashup that brought Charles Bronson lookalike Robert Bronzi into the Playing with Dolls franchise... and there was much rejoicing.

Rene Perez is the mastermind behind that franchise, and is a frequent collaborator with Bronzi. He writes, directs, shoots and edits his films, making him a one-man filmmaking army.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rene this morning, and we got deep into a discussion about making genre movies, how his goal is to entertain the audience first, and where he finds all the beautiful woman he casts in his movies.

Rene discovered Bronzi, so we also talk about where he found the living embodiment of Charles Bronson, and how he got Bronzi in front of the camera.
