Those of us in The Basement are involved in a special film project with John Fallon called "No Man's Ridge". It's about a group of hunters who wind up in the sights of an angry Sasquatch.
Because of that, I was thinking about what five creatures I'd love to see in a movie. With that said, let's get to it!
1. Cerberus: A gigantic three headed dog from Greek Mythology that stands guard at the gates of the Underworld. A literal hell hound. Just imagine the visual of this in a movie about the famous 12 tasks of Hercules!
2. Bananach: Phantoms that haunt battlegrounds. It would be interesting for a movie showing a group of soldiers during WWI fighting a battle that eerily echos the one also being waged by these spectres... especially when both the living and dead begin to interact and influence their respective battles.
3. Enenra: A Japanese creature made entirely from smoke and darkness. I just think that the visual effects for this would be awesome.
4. Sirin: This Russian creature has the upper body of a woman, and the lower body of an owl- like the classical Greek Sirens. A movie about a Russian team on a mission to recover a downed experimental aircraft in the mountains when they start to be stalked and picked off by Sirins would be pretty cool in my opinion.
5. Grootslang: This creature hails from South Africa, and is an elephant with a serpent for a tail. It lusts for gems, and lives in deep, dark caves. One of these is inhabiting a cave that gets opened up by a mining operation goes on a rampage, thinking that the humans are after the riches that it has collected over the ages. Cool movie idea, eh? Yes... yes, it is!
So, there you have it- my Top Five creatures I'd love to see in a movie!
