Darren Lynn Bousman made quite a name for himself in the horror community directing Saws II through IV and Repo! The Genetic Opera. Since then he's kept busy with several more genre offerings, and his latest hits theatres and digital in February. Rejoice!
St. Agatha looks like it'll be a female-driver horror tale, one peeps are calling nunspoitation . . . which definitely peaks our interest in The Basement. What have we got here, you ask?
The official synopsis has a pregnant con woman seeking refuge in a convent hidden in isolation. What starts out as a perfect place to have a child turns into a dark place where silence is forced, ghastly secrets are masked, and every bit of willpower Agatha has is tested.
I could write more, but figure now is a good time to watch the trailer instead:
Looks good! I usually enjoy Bousman's work, and I'm looking forward to giving St. Agatha a watch. You'll be able to see it yourselves when the flick hits theatres and the home market on Feb. 8.
