There are a pair of movies vying for your attention this weekend; one of them a highly anticipated follow up to a 40-year-old classic, the other a super charged take a beloved book.

But, when it comes to dollars earned, Jason and Howie will likely put their money on Jamie Lee Curtis during today's segment on the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show, starting at 8:20 a.m.
Not only is David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's follow up to John Carpenter's original Halloween expected to score with fans, it's landed 86 per cent Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, which is unheard of for a slasher movie, let lone the 11th entry in a long-running series. Horror movie fans and cinephiles alike a jazzed for this Halloween.
The Hate U Give has also scored big with critics, and went over super well at TIFF earlier this Fall. A riff on Black Lives Matter, this is also expected to do well with mainstream audiences looking for something deeper at the movies this weekend.
