Jay talks movies and box office on big city radio

Shawn and I are no strangers to the radio, but today was a Basement first as I was invited to talk movies with veteran newshound Shane Woodford on the CKNW News Talk 980 afternoon show.

Sure, I've talked such things on local radio many a time, but CKNW is THE place for news and current events in Vancouver. You know, Vancouver? Gateway to the Pacific? The Big Smoke? Where The X-Files, Millennium and countless other Hollywood movies and TV shows were made? Big city, lots of people?
Yeah, THAT Vancouver.

Long-time listeners will remember Shane from our second season. He was starting out in the news business at the time and joined Shawn and I a couple of times while we were live on 92.5 FM CFBX Kamloops. He's a huge movie fan and knows his shit when it comes to the industry. It's alway a good time talking flicks with him.

Today was no different. We touched on Star Wars: The Force Awakens and its epic box-office run, then talked about the slate of potential blockbusters for the year ahead. Shane made me sound like I know what I'm talking about, and it was much appreciated.

And I appreciate him letting his listenership, which is huge,  know about We Came from the Basement. Much obliged, brother!

Wanna hear what we had to say? Then follow this link to the CKNW Audio Vault, select today's date, and 4 p.m. Then push play and slide the Soundcloud player to about the 34-minute mark. We yap for a good 15 minutes.

Once again, thanks Shane and the CKNW crew for having me on. Was a thrill and hopefully we can do it again some day!
