A new era begins in The Basement

A year ago, on Halloween night, Shawn and I called it quits. We'd spent six seasons reviewing and chatting about the genre B-movie, and basically burned ourselves out. There really is too much of a good thing.

But our passion for podcasting -- and sitting around bullshitting while enjoying a few brews -- remained. Hence we slowly got The Basement up and running again. Thankfully, our loyal Basementites didn't tell us to go fuck ourselves, and it's been a joy entertaining you all on a semi-regular basis.

But change is good, and gets the blood pumping again. So Shawn and I are excited to announce actress Amy Wickenheiser has agreed to join us as a semi-regular co-host on our semi-regular podcast!

Amy co-stars in The Shelter, our bro John Fallon's feature directorial debut, and had a role in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. She's also an experienced podcaster with a passion for comic books, and knocked Basementites dead with her guest spot on our last episode. We're super pumped she's agreed to join our show!

She'll be recording our annual Halloween special with us Thursday night alongside frequent Basement guest -- and our No. 1 Scream Queen -- Brooke Lewis! You'll hear the episode on Halloween. Duh.

It's not Halloween in The Basement without Brooke Lewis. No way, no how :)

Amy will be away through November, but back with us in December. We're also mixing things up a bit, and The Basement will no longer focus on movies and movies alone. Discussions will include all things entertainment, from comics to TV to YouTube to music to you name it.

We're pumped for this change, and hope you are too. But we promise The Basement's attitude will remain the same.
