Shane Black brings back Remo Williams

Surprise! Days after Warner Bros said they were moving forward with a Mack Bolan movie, Sony Pictures announces that Remo Williams, AKA The Destroyer, is headed back to the big screen.

Like Bolan, Williams is the hero from a series of adventure novels. Oldish Basementites might remember that Fred Ward played the character in the over-the-top 80s flick Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.

The really good news about this incarnation of Remo Williams is Shane Black has signed on to direct, which makes the Lethal Weapon screenwriter a very busy dude indeed, as he's resurrecting Predator for 20th Century Fox and has a Doc Savage movie in the works.

Yeah, Black's the guy who directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3, for you younger Basementites.

No word yet on who will play Williams. Too bad Ward isn't young again, because he was a fantastic Remo Williams. Scope out the trailer for the 1985 movie:
