About those Halloween 3 rumours . . .
- 30 -
I kid, I kid. But not about those Halloween 3 rumours being true.
Bloody Disgusting, along with The Basement and several other horror/news sites on the Interwebs, reported earlier this week that The Weinstein Company was developing a third film in the new Halloween franchise kicked off by Rob Zombie's two controversial flicks.
The buzz was enough to prompt the HalloweenMovie.com site to publish a statement about the state of a third -- or eighth, depending on how you count it -- Halloween film. Here it is:
"As you know, we do not comment on rumours regarding a Halloween film in any stage of production no matter how accurate or inaccurate they may be. However, over the past few months, we have been flooded with ton(s) of emails, tweets, Facebook postings etc. . . regarding the state of the next instalment.
As we stated before, we are dedicate to the fans of the Halloween series just as much as we are dedicated to delivering a film we believe the fans deserve and will, most importantly, love. With that being said, we can confirm a new instalment of Halloween is indeed on track and moving forward. We are currently developing a script, to finally bring Michael back to the theatres!"
So there you have it, Halloween 3 is coming, and it will feature Michael Myers. No word on if it'll be in 3D, 2D or some other dimension. We in The Basement have our fingers crossed for 2D.
