Cast announced for Star Wars Episode VII

There was speculation that J.J. Abrams and company would unveil the cast of Star Wars Episode VII on May 4, that being May the 4th Be With You day or something like that. But that was not the case, as the names were dropped today.

Are you ready for it? It's a mix of fresh and old faces. Some of them very old. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

OK, John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley ( Silent Witness), Adam Driver (Inside Llewyn Davis), Oscar Isaac (The Bourne Legacy), Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows) and Max von Sydow (The Exorcist) are the new editions to the Star Wars universe.

Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker -- yup, the cast of the original Star Wars trilogy -- are back. No word on if my main man Billy D will make an appearance.

So there you have it. The speculation is over, casting wise at least. Now all we nerds need is some deets on what the new trilogy is about.

Star Wars Episode VII hits theatres Dec. 18, 2015.
