Iron Sky was a crowdsourcing phenomenon and is a Basement favourite. So it's very good news that producer Mark Overett has a new flick headed in our direction, with The Vampire Diaries and Hemlock Grove star Penelope Mitchell (pictured) among the cast.
Pandala Films Pty announced today that production is ready to begin on The Fear of Darkness, a supernatural thriller directed by Chris Fitchett. The film will shoot for four weeks in March on Australia's Gold Coast.
In the film, a brilliant young psychiatrist is forced to confront the dark creature that dwells deep within her own unconscious when she investigates the supernatural disappearance of a university student.
Mitchell is joined by fellow Australian thespians Maeve Dermondy (Griff the Invisible) and Damien Garvey (Underbelly). The Fear of Darkness will be distributed Down Under by Greenlight Releasing, while Arclight Films handles international sales. You can keep tabs on the flick via its Facebook page and Twitter.
Sounds promising. We loved the hell out of Iron Sky, so we're primed for this one.
