We interrupt your Sunday afternoon for this important announcement -- boobs!
Now that we have your attention, Shawn and I felt it was time for an update on some minor changes at play here in The Basement. Don't worry, loyal listeners, we're not quitting. Just trimming some fat, so to speak.
As most of you know, we're not proceeding with Dark Fest for a variety of reasons. We've also been trying, these last few months, to break as many movie-related stories a day as possible. Why? Doing so generates hits, and hits mean more listeners. And greed is good, as Gordon Gekko likes to say.
Well, not really. Although the effort has paid off, it's been easy to lose sight of why we started doing this in the first place. Shawn and I started The Basement because we like talking about movies and someone told us we should record what we say and put it on the Internet. Putting it on the Internet turned to putting it on the radio, then came a film festival and connections to the film industry. It all came fast and furious, less Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.
But people don't visit We Came from the Basement and listen to our radio show/podcast because of all those other things. Basement Dwellers stop by because of our unbiased, non-pretentious, R-rated opinions. That is our thang. We role with the 99 per cent. In fact, some times it feels like we're driving the bus. And we're cool with that.
So we promise a post a day Monday to Friday, more if some shit catches our attention. There will no longer be a teaser to Thursday night's show, because all the details are already on the site. The podcast and accompanying reviews will still roll out Sunday mornings.
Oh, and The X is putting us on the air three days a week. When we know the schedule, we'll let you know. And knowing is half the battle.
Thanks for rolling with us for the last four seasons. We hope you'll stick with us for many more.
