We have much love for John Fallon and Marc Natoli's action short The Proposal here in The Basement. It did in 12 minutes what many action movies fail to do in two hours -- kicked our asses! The one question we were left with when the flick ended was "when do we get to see a feature-length version of this bad boy?" The answer is soon! Mason Stone: The Proposal is currently in development, with Natoli back as gun for hire Mason Stone and Ben Whimpey returning to the director's chair. John Fallon, who wrote the short, will co-write the feature. The Proposal has already proven a hit at festivals, winning Best Action Film in Philadelphia. Given Natoli's charisma and Fallon's sense of action, we're not surprised. A full-length film will do the same. We'll provide more on Mason Stone: The Proposal as it develops, and wish everyone involved much success.

We Came from the Basement wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for repeat guest John Fallon. The actor/writer/director/producer/stuntman/Arrow in the Head founder was Jason and Shawn's first guest, and he's become a friend and frequent collaborator. Heck, he even helped come up with the show's title. Fallon updates audiences on his many projects, and he's brought actor/martial artist Marc Natoli with him to discuss their short film collaboration The Proposal, as well as update fans on his second directorial effort, Heretic, and the upcoming The Siege of Robin Hood.

We just interviewed filmmaking duo John Fallon and Marc Natoli this morning on our Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show segment, where they talked The Proposal and the upcoming Heretic and The Siege of Robin Hood. But it looks like the two collaborators aren't finished yet. Fallon announced via Twitter that Natoli has signed on to play Davies in Heretic, a medieval action/drama starring Paul Sloan and Mark Lawson. Fallon co-wrote the script and directs.

There are no major releases in theatres this weekend! That's right. There is nothing of note in cinemas for the next seven days, which means Ralph Breaks the Internet and Creed II are expected to keep cleaning house at the box office. Does that mean there's nothing for Jason and Howie to discuss on the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show? Hardly.

Jason and Shawn are back and ready to throw down over an action-packed short film in this, the extended cut of Friday's segment on the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show. What's the short film? It's called The Proposal, and comes by way of long-time friend and collaborator John Fallon, and rising martial arts star Marc Natoli. And it killed it this past week at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.

"Admit it: that was cool as fuck." Star Marc Natoli says that line about half way through the action short The Proposal, and there's no better way to sum the film up. Although just 10 or so minutes long, The Proposal is everything an action fan could ask for. In fact, the only complaint I've got is I wanted more!

Because it's Thanksgiving, and we're feeling thankful for your support these last eight years, and the support The Proposal's writer, John Fallon, and star, Marc Natoli, have shown us.

That headline is accurate in so many ways. For one, The action short The Proposal (which we've written about here and here ) will indeed screen at the esteemed Sitges Film Fest next month, which is cool in its own right. But we also have it on good authority the film, which is an ode to 80s and 90s action cinema, is also a kick-ass movie, so we anticipate it will blow audiences through the back wall of theatre when the lights go down Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. in Catalonia, Spain.

Cameras are officially rolling on the upcoming action short The Proposal, written and produced by our man John Fallon and starring actor/producer/martial artist Marc Natoli. In fact, the shoot is a couple of days and change old at this point, which means it's high time to share a few behind-the-scenes shots for your eye holes.

Back in the day, Shawn and I never strayed from reviewing a short film. When done right, they can tell a pitch-perfect story in pitch-perfect style, and pave the way for a beefed up feature film version down the road. When a short film comes from the keyboard of our man John Fallon, and promises a high-concept story with kick-ass fight scenes, we're definitely interested in taking it in.
