We've seen many creepy clown movies, most recently being the excellent It remake. However, few are like the corny "classic" Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
This movie is cheesy, zany, and just barely creepy at a few points. It's really just a showcase of all the weird and creative ways these clowns can kill people. Basically like a poke-a-dotted, blood-spattered box of chocolates.
All this madness is done using some decent practical effects, this of course being an 80s B-movie. If the effects do look a bit off, it only really adds to the absurdity of it all. At certain points it even gives the movie a slight surreal feel.
It's honestly a nice change of pace seeing a loud and proud monster flick. It wastes no time getting to what we came for, and delivering on its great title. I'm definitely a fan of slow-burn horror, but we've had a lot lately, variety really is the spice of life.
If you're in the mood for some good 'ole 80s camp, get some friends together, get the weed and booze going, and you'll have a fun time with it. Technically it's a Bad, but it's a goofy good time.
