Poor, poor John Rhys-Davies. The man who was once Sallah and Gimli is now reduced to playing that old guy in a bad horror movie. Or, at the very least, a "bad' horror movie.
I'm not sure where Soldier of War falls in the bad, or "bad," category. No matter what, Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Lord of the Rings it isn't.
Still, there could be some fun to be had with the premise of an undead soldier rising from the grave and killing people all Jason Voorhees style. There is a time and place for movies like this. Perhaps there is a time and place for Soldier of War?
Check out the trailer and decide for yourself.
Rosie Fellner and Tanya Franks join Rhys-Davies in director John Adams' romp. It hits VOD March 3 and DVD April 9.
