Ti West, Adam Wingard, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, David Bruckner, Tyler Gillett, Justin Martinez,
Glenn McQuaid, Joe Swanberg, and Chad Villella. Remember these names, because they're the brilliantly depraved minds that cooked up the film V/H/S.
For those who aren't in the know, VHS is how we old folk watched movies at home before DVD came along. What's DVD? Fuck off!
Apple premiered the green-band trailer for the above directors' upcoming film today, and it's pretty damn raw and creepy for something suitable for work. I was looking forward to this because Ti (The Innkeepers, House of the Devil) West and Adam (A Horrible Way to Die) Wingard are involved. Now, having seen some footage, I'm sold brother!
When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to
retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the
middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn’t going to be as
easy as they thought. In the living room, a lifeless body holds court
before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks
of VHS tapes. As they search for the right one, they are treated to a
seemingly endless number of horrifying videos, each stranger than the
last.
Yup, sounds badass to me. V/H/S hits VOD on Aug. 31. Magnet releases the film in theatres Oct. 5.
