A vacation... From The Basement

Good morning all. Despite the threat of a global pandemic, it's Spring Break here in Canada, and we in The Basement are taking the week off. No, we're not self isolating ourselves, nor have we been quarantined -- at least not yet. It's just time for a quick break to recharge the batteries and spend time with family. Mike S might continue with his posts, but he's been told to take a break too. There will be no new episode this Friday on the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Kamloops, which also means no podcast on Saturday. Our next, all-new episode, broadcasts Friday, March 27. Regular posts resume Monday, March 23. This, of course, depends on what happens regarding COVID-19 in the meantime. We thank everyone for your ongoing support, and look forward to entertaining the duck out of you ASAP. Stick with us!

Vacation time in The Basement

Alright bitches, it's time for From The Basement to go on its annual late-summer vacation. There's beer to drink, fish to catch and snoozing to be done! What does that mean for you, our loyal fans and followers? Well, regular posts will cease until the week of Sept 9. If something super awesome comes up, we'll touch on it. Otherwise, a vacation is a vacation. We're back with regular podcasts, and back on the mighty Radio NL, Sept. 13. And we'll be running our Bill Moseley interview and talking 3 From Hell, because we're awesome that way. Until then, smoke 'em if you got 'em, and have a great final few days of summer. Stick with us!

Gone Fishing 3: Vacation Harder

Loyal and long-term Basement Dwellers know Shawn and I hold down day jobs. The Basement, at least for now, is just a passion project that allows us to escape the daily grind. But day jobs do come with a perk: paid vacation time! Starting today at 7 p.m. PST I am on 23 glorious days off. Shawn's holiday time looms. That means time out of the city: fishing, camping, cabining, kayaking, beering. You know the drill. Which means updates to this site will likely become a little more sporadic during the next couple of months. But we'll update as often as we can. Given that this site was updated 345 out of 365 days last year, we should be able to post stories, reviews, trailers and geek news with relative frequency this summer. We just didn't want you thinking you aren't appreciate in The Basement. We love you all individually and as a group. And we'll be updating at least six times a week again in September, with Season Four kicking off the first week of October. ...

Gone Fishing 2: Gone Fishinger

It's vacation time in The Basement folks . . . at least from the day job. Actually, Shawn has been off a week or so now. It's yours truly who is about to enjoy 16 days of play. And that means lake time, which means time away from home and this computer. Which, to make a long story short, means updates to this blog will be inconsistent at best until I head back to work. But fear not, regular updates will resume Aug. 8 and I will post tidbits here and there when time allows. In the meantime, enjoy this preview for the ultimate summer movie:
