One of the things that attracts us to a movie- besides the trailers, is the movie posters.  They have to be eye catching, and able to hint at what the story's about without spoiling it.  They have to make you curious, and want to plunk down your cash to sit in a theatre seat and watch the movie. So, with that in mind, I'm going to present my Top Five Horror Movie Posters:

Children can be pretty creepy, right?  Right.  Dolls are pretty creepy, right?  Right.  So dolls of children should be super creepy, right?  Maybe... Greta has been hired by the Heelshires to look after their son while they are away.  When she arrives, she learns that Brahms is actually a doll... a doll made to look like their deceased son.  Escaping an abusive relationship, and needing the money, Greta takes the job. If you listened to the Extended Edition of the podcast this week, you would've heard Jay and Shawn mention a couple of movies they feel people should watch before they die.  Well, time for- you guessed it- my top ten movies to see before you die... but with a twist.  Five of them are great movies that sit solidly in "The Good"... and five of them sit either in "The Ugly", or the dumpster next to it... The Basement's primary focus has always been horror, with other genre fair thrown in for good measure. Yes, we've started deviating into more mainstream films, video games and the like, but we're still down for a good horror movie. Some of the best horror movies are haunted-house movies. When done right, they can be a creepy and satisfying affair. Yes, the subgenera can become predictable and even trite, but, like I said, when done right...

It's the Canada Day long weekend, and what better way for me to celebrate... than with a list of my top five favorite Canadian made horror movies? Am I right- or am I right, eh? Right.
