The day after Judgment Day arrives - Terminator: Dark Fate

I don't know. I just don't know. On the one hand, I'm excited that Linda Hamilton, James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger are reunited for a Terminator movie. THAT is very cool. On the other hand, this latest entry feels like Hollywood programming. Two Terminators -- one Hispanic, the other female -- battling it out in large set pieces, jumping and flipping through the air like they leaped out of a Marvel movie. Show a bit of Arnold, as that's expected, a lot of Hamilton, as that's the big lure, and amp up the CGI.

Terminator: Dark Fate poster arrives ahead of trailer

Tomorrow, Thursday, we finally get a look at the new Terminator movie by way of a trailer. We'll see actual footage from the Tim Miller directed flick, and see Linda Hamilton back in action as Sarah Connor. Until then, we've got this snazzy new poster for Terminator: Dark Fate, which does feature Hamilton as Connor, and a return to that familiar stretch of highway last visited at the end of the original Terminator back in 1984.

The death of a movie theatre?

News dropped late last night that Landmark Cinemas is closing the Paramount Theatre in our home town of Kamloops. The theatre is a landmark indeed, having entertained moviegoers since 1955. Landmark stated that closing the theatre is a business decision, meaning attendance at the old movie house has been on the decline for a while. The last movie I caught there was Overlord back in November, and it was not well attended.
