Doctor Sleep is Playing with Fire Midway through Last Christmas

The wait is over, the time is now, and so it begins; From The Basement takes to prime-time radio today at 6:05 p.m., only on Radio NL 610 AM Kamloops! And what do Jason and Shawn have in store for listeners this eve? A bunch of stuff that's guaranteed to make the 22 minutes and change fly by at lightning speed. It'll be a good listen, we promise you that. For one, they review the upcoming horror flick Animal Among Us starring Christian Oliver and Larisa Oleynik, which comes out Nov. 19. Is this just another kids-go-into-the-woods-kids-get-dead campground slasher? Or do the filmmakers offer something a little different? Stick with us! Don't touch that dial, there's more! Jay has checked out some of the Apple TV Plus offerings and has a few words to say about them. Meanwhile, Shawn took in the recent Trash Wrestling event at Moccasin Square Gardens and wants more people to attend in the future. Throw in a rundown of what's worth watching on the big and small...

An evening with Apple TV Plus

I was pretty stoked for Apple TV Plus. The new streaming service had enticed the likes of Jason Momoa, Francis Lawrence, Steven Spielberg, Reese Witherspoon, M. Night Shyamalan and more. Apple is also pretty reliable when it comes to creating a good product, and at $5.99 a month, the price was right. So I sat down the other night and decided to give a couple of shows a try, starting with See, the epic new sci-fi series starring Momoa and directed by Lawrence. I dig their work, I dig science fiction, and I'm all about the epic. "Bring it on," I said. The show sucked! I'm usually more than willing to suspend my disbelief, but I couldn't accept a world where a virus had wiped out most humans, and rendered the survivors blind. Nor could I accept, even after a hundred years or so, these blind people could survive in the wild, build shacks to live in -- not to mention some nifty, medieval looking clothing -- and wage tribal warfare on each other. You read that...

First look at Jason Momoa's new Apple TV + series

I refrained from making any sight jokes in the headline, as Jason Momoa's new Apple TV + series is called See, and it takes place in a future where humanity has lost the ability to do just that -- see. So yeah, I took the high road on that one. But the series, which debuts Nov. 1 along with the new streaming platform, looks pretty damn good. We're getting an epic-scale, post-apocalyptic world here, and no expense was spared. I am impressed. Check it out, and be impressed as well: The series was written and created by Steven Knight, and directed by Francis Lawrence. What do you think? Do you like what you... See?
