I don't do heights, and I don't do confined spaces, which makes the Russian survival/horror flick Break seem like an appealing one. Why? Facing your fears vicariously etcetera and so forth. The concept is like Frozen (not the cartoon) taken to new, ummm, heights. A group of friends are headed for an unforgettable New Year's Eve party atop a moment when their funicular stalls mid journey. Realizing help is not coming, the group starts their deadly fight with the cold, heights, and eventually each other. Check out the trailer: This looks decent, and could provide some moments of tension and Lord of the Flies-like conflict. And you know, that whole heights/claustrophobia thing. The trailer for Tigran Sahakyan's film appeared on Arrow in the Head today, so we're assuming this flick, which opened in Russia earlier this year, is headed our way. It's not very often that a movie comes along and totally rings my bell, but Frankenstein's Army is one of them. Wanna know why? Read on, constant reader! Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. I have but one complaint with this movie, and that's that it's yet another entry in the found-footage genre. But it has a traditional score etc. Why? What's the point? The film would have been better served as a straight-up narrative, in my opinion. End of short rant. Everything else about this flick is bad to the ass. In fact, there's an entire sequence where I was glued to the screen, my jaw wide open, shocked and awed at what I was watching. A Second World War found-footage movie about Russian soldiers squaring off against an army of Nazi monsters created by the mind of Dr. Victor Frankenstein? Sign me up! That is indeed the premise of co-writer/director Richard Raaphorst's flick, due in theatres and on VOD July 26. While found footage is dead and done in my opinion, the Frankenstein/Nazi/WWII angle is a gooder. And the preview below certainly promises some fucked up shit, if you'll pardon my French. Of all the promotional material I've seen for A Good Day to Die Hard , this is my hands down favourite. Why, because it's A Walk Down Memory McClane, as in John McClane 's greatest hits. Too fucking cool!  I cannot wait to see the character back on the big screen Feb. 14. This is a must see for any self-respecting action fan, period! Bruce Willis returns as John McClane in the fifth installment of the action franchise. This time, he travels to Russia to get his son, played by Jai Courtney, out of trouble. It's Friday . Which means, for some inexplicable reason, we've got more promotional material for the new Die Hard movie. Not that we're complaining, because we sure as shit aren't. As is standard with this kind of stuff, the powers that be at 20th. Century Fox have edited down what is clearly a lengthy sequence -- the beginning of a car chase from the looks of things -- and crammed as much material into one short video. The point is clearly to highlight one great vehicle stunt and the return of a smart ass John McClane . There is much rejoicing. I personally can't wait for this motherfucker to open.
