Behold the effed up teaser for The True Tale of Ole Splitfoot vs. The Lesbian Warrior Nuns of the Great White North

Because sometimes the fate of the world rests in the hands of warrior nuns dressed as strippers... we've got a flick headed our way called The True Tale of Ole Splitfoot vs. The Lesbian Warrior Nuns of the Great White North. I dare you to say that 10 times fast! This one comes via director Massimiliano Cerchi and writers/executive producers Ash Hamilton and Ben Harl. And it's obviously a horror/comedy done in a grindhouse vein, which this teaser trailer capture perfectly: The True Tale of Ole Splitfoot vs. The Lesbian Warrior Nuns of the Great White North stars Kaylee Williams and genre icon Michael Pare, along with Robert Lasardo. Filming will commence this fall for a 2021 release, and we'll be keeping tabs on this one... because that's what we do here in The Basement. In the meantime, keep track of the flick via Facebook and Horror-Fix . Source: Horror Fix

Charles Bronson look-alike returns with Once Upon a Time in Deadwood

Few will argue Charles Bronson's Spaghetti Western Once Upon a Time in the West is a classic. Not just of the genre, but all of cinema. Robert Bronzi's upcoming Once Upon a Time in Deadwood? Well.... Not that I think it looks bad. It actually looks pretty good. Bronzi proved he's the living embodiment of Charles Bronson with the solid Death Kiss, and I'm sure he's gonna put foot to ass here. Plus there's the great Michael Pare, a couple of hot blondes, and lots and lots of shooting. But Once Upon a Time in Deadwood? Hey, if the title puts asses in seats, who am I to judge. Not a question, a statement. And producer Jeff Miller says much of the film was shot where Bronson made Once Upon a Time in the West, which is cool. Here's the trailer: Once Upon a Time in Deadwood also stars Karin Brauns and Lauren Compton. It hits Digital Oct 1, and DVD Nov. 19. And darn tootin' we're gonna check it out! The Best Feel-Good Movies Vol. 1: Streets of Fire

Jay here. I've never been big on traditional feel-good movies. My comfort food is Jaws, Aliens, Lethal Weapon, Halloween, Star Wars and flicks like that. They entertain me like no other kind of movie can. But there are some movies that don't fit that bill, yet they do make me feel good. I'm in a funk, and they lift my spirits. Even make me physically feel better. One of those flicks is Walter Hill's Streets of Fire.

Retro Review: Bad Moon

Before Twilight neutered vampires and werewolves there were a string of movies that made the iconic monsters scary. When it comes to werewolves, Eric Red 's Bad Moon is a flick horror fans mention often as an underrated genre classic. I caught the Michael Pare vehicle when it hit VHS back in the mid 90s and dug it then. How does the movie hold up some 20 years later? Stick with me!

Go behind the scenes on John Fallon's The Shelter

Post production on our bro John Fallon's feature directorial debut The Shelter got underway last week. That means Shawn's going to be busy scoring the flick very soon. John, along with star Michael Pare , producer Donny Broussard and other crew members took some time to discuss the supernatural thriller and their experience making the film in a great article at Arrow in the Head. You can read an excerpt below.

Fangoria heads into The Shelter

By now The Shelter should be a film Basementites are well versed in. It's written and directed by our bro John Fallon, AKA The Arrow of Arrow in the Head, and stars veteran actor Michael Pare , AKA Eddie of Eddie and the Cruisers , among many other roles. The flick's crowd sourcing campaign is coming to an end. If you haven't already, I strongly suggest heading to Indiegogo and throwing a few bucks The Shelter's way. Never ones to be left out, horror magazine Fangoria sat down with John to talk about The Shelter and why The Arrow went with Pare as his leading man . Here's an excerpt: "For this personal journey, Fallon had to seek out a genre stalwart to bring the weight his eerie vision demanded, and ended up casting none other than Michael Pare for the lead in his terrifying tale. Pare, no stranger to dark material, may be venturing into a new realm of fright film with THE SHELTER, but Fallon holds no doubts to the actor’s ability to adapt and...

New poster for John Fallon's The Shelter

Our bro John Fallon, The Arrow over at Arrow in the Head, is hard at work prepping his feature directorial debut The Shelter and managing the IndieGoGo campaign to get the flick made. And just 'cause that doesn't keep him busy enough, the man's drummed up a new poster for his movie too. Check it: Slick. Just slick. Simple. Creepy. Effective. The movie itself is two of those, and simple isn't one of them. Trust me. John wrote the screenplay for The Shelter and produces alongside long-time producing partner Donny Broussard and executive producer/actor Michael Pare ( The Lincoln Lawyer , Eddie and the Cruisers ) who will also be the lead in the film. VFX wiz Thomas Wilson ( James Wan ’s The Conjuring, Insidious : Chapter 2) will handle the visual effects. Need a refresher on what it's about? On a star filled night, widower and homeless man Thomas (Michael Pare) finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a vast two story house with the lights on and...

IndieGoGo campaign a go for John Fallon's The Shelter

Today will be a day long remembered as Bruise Productions and Bigfoot Productions announce the launch of their IndieGoGo campaign to help fund our bro John Fallon’s feature-length directorial debut The Shelter. You all know our boy John, he's The Arrow of Arrow in the Head, the star of Deaden and Dead Shadows and Billy Trigger himself. He's been on our show a couple of times too. John wrote the screenplay for The Shelter and will produce alongside long-time producing partner Donny Broussard and executive producer/actor Michael Pare ( The Lincoln Lawyer , Eddie and the Cruisers ) who will also be the lead in the film. VFX wiz Thomas Wilson ( James Wan ’s The Conjuring, Insidious : Chapter 2) will handle the visual effects. Here are Pare’s thoughts on the project: "The Shelter tells a great and painful tragedy. Not about global disaster or war or economic collapse but of the individual human heart . The human heart and soul is what all art seeks to unravel. Guilt, ...
