Bigfoot is a hot cinematic commodity these days, especially in the realm of found-footage horror. I just checked out Bobcat Goldthwait 's effort Willow Creek (read the review here ) and eagerly await  Eduardo Sanchez 's spin on the sasquatch legend Exists. Exists doesn't hit until next month. By modern standards, it's a thing of simple beauty. Fight scenes are coherent and all the more exciting for it. Although not as good as director John Woo 's Asian efforts, the gunfights are still stunning ballets of death. No shaky cam here! Van Damme was born to play Chance Boudreaux, Arnold Vosloo and Lance Henriksen are brilliant as the main bad guys, Yancy Butler is pure yum and Wilfred Brimley is just awesome as Uncle Douvee. That's right folks, The Stath might be showing his lighter side in the upcoming Susan Cooper , which is written and directed by The Heat 's Paul Feig and set to star Melissa McCarthy . Word has it negotiations are underway. Now before fans freak out, this isn't supposed to be parody, but a comedy with action elements along the lines of The Heat.  Feig is quoted as saying, "What I don't want people to think is like, oh, it's just one of these parodies where it's kind of like, you know, she's pretending to be James Bond or something. It has to be like a real character who goes on this kind of real situation, but then it's how she interacts with the world and with the people around her, that's where the comedy comes from." Any movie with the one-two punch of Scott Adkins and Dolph Lundgren has to be worth a watch, even if it looks like a cheesy B-movie. Right? I said right? Such is the case with the upcoming creature feature Legendary, which pits Adkins and Lundgren against each other AND some cryptid wreaking havoc in a remote Chinese village. Having watched the preview below, I can attest that Legendary does look cheap and cheesy . . . and 100-per-cent awesome! It's got Lundgren. It's got Adkins. It's got a monster eating people. And somewhere God has killed a kitten. Do we really need a Timecop reboot? No. Nor have we needed any of the bazillion reboots that smothered multiplexes the last several years. But this won't stop producers Marc Shmuger and Tom McNulty from putting a new spin on Jean-Claude Van Damme 's 1994 hit. Much like the Total Recall redo, this Timecop won't be a straight-up remake, but a re-imagining of the concept. Whatever the fuck that means. Van Damme 's version followed a police officer for a security agency that regulates time travel as he fends for his life against a shady politician who has ties to his past. Does anyone care? No. Will this stop the new Timecop from being made? No. Suffice to say JCVD is not involved, nor will anyone do the splits. Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning Jason: The latest entry in the Universal Soldiers series left me with mixed emotions. Who'd of thunk that from a B-grade action movie!?! On the plus side: the action sequences in this movie OWN! These are brutal, rough and tumble throwdowns that don't disappoint. The final 20 minutes are bad to the ass! And kudos to Scott Adkins for giving the fight scenes his all. The bad: Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are but bit players in this, yet they are sold as the stars. Not their fault. I blame marketing. Still, It'd of been nice to see more of these guys. Their scenes are great, as are the fights with Adkins, but there's not enough of them. All said and done, I dug this Universal Soldier. It was different than the entries that have come before, and that's what I appreciate most about it.
