Filming begins on Terminator: Genesis

His last few films haven't exactly caught on, but that hasn't stopped Arnold Schwarzenegger or the peeps behind Terminator : Genesis from getting their sequel/prequel/reboot off the ground. That's right, the latest Terminator flick -- the first to star Schwarzenegger since Rise of the Machines -- is filming right now!

Terminator: Genesis a sequel, prequel and reboot

That's right, the fifth film in The Terminator franchise is boldly going where no robot has gone before in an attempt to be a sequel, prequel and reboot all at once. Sounds kind of like what  J.J. Abrams did with Star Trek . How do we know this? The folks over at Moviehole claim to have talked with a reputable source on the project, who spilled the plot beans in a very spoilery fashion, if spoilery is even a word.

Jai Courtney will be Kyle Reese in the new Terminator

It's official, Terminator : Genesis has its Kyle Reese , and he will be played by A Good Day to Die Hard 's Jai Courtney . Courtney joins Emilia Clarke (Sarah Connor), Jason Clarke (John Connor) and the one and only Arnold Schwarzenegger in the new flick, which is intended to kick off a trilogy of Terminator films.

Jason versus A Good Day to Die Hard

OK, OK. I'm really late to the party and everyone on the planet has watched A Good Day to Die Hard and given their 69 cents. Most people mildly enjoyed it or didn't like it. So what does this Basement Dweller think? Stick with me. John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces. I'll start with what doesn't work. This isn't a Die Hard movie. It's a big, Hollywood action movie that John McClane just happened to wander into. McClane is a superman who lives through more near-death experiences in the first half hour than a normal human being could ever survive. This is contrary to what made the original Die Hard work so well -- a normal guy caught in extraordinary circumstances.  The whole father/son dynamic is forced. Why does Jack need to work for the CIA? And why doe...

Take A Walk Down Memory McClane

Of all the promotional material I've seen for A Good Day to Die Hard , this is my hands down favourite. Why, because it's A Walk Down Memory McClane, as in John McClane 's greatest hits. Too fucking cool!  I cannot wait to see the character back on the big screen Feb. 14. This is a must see for any self-respecting action fan, period! Bruce Willis returns as John McClane in the fifth installment of the action franchise. This time, he travels to Russia to get his son, played by Jai Courtney, out of trouble. Yippe-ki-yay, motherfucker! Source: Movie Fanatic Related articles Film: Contest: Hey Chicago, see A Good Day To Die Hard early and for free Die Hard getting a 25th Anniversary blu ray set! A new clip/featurette from A Good Day to Die Hard

It's Friday . Which means, for some inexplicable reason, we've got more promotional material for the new Die Hard movie. Not that we're complaining, because we sure as shit aren't. As is standard with this kind of stuff, the powers that be at 20th. Century Fox have edited down what is clearly a lengthy sequence -- the beginning of a car chase from the looks of things -- and crammed as much material into one short video. The point is clearly to highlight one great vehicle stunt and the return of a smart ass John McClane . There is much rejoicing. I personally can't wait for this motherfucker to open. In fact, I just told my wife to line up a sitter for the weekend of Feb. 15 to 17. A Good Day to Die Hard opens Feb. 14. John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.  T...

Seventeen pics from A Good Day to Die Hard

That's right, 17 new images from the upcoming R-RATED action fivequel A Good Day to Die Hard. With Arnold Schwarzenegger back in The Last Stand this weekend, Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head due later this month, and The Bruce's latest Die Hard out Feb. 14, this truly is the Year of Action. Thanks to Jon Cross for coining that phrase. Below are said images, featuring Bruce Willis, co-star Jai Courtney as his son, and hot Russian chick Yuliya Snigir showing more of what's underneath that leather motorcycle outfit. Is A Good Day to Die Hard rated R?

That's what our friends at JoBlo.com are saying. Contributor Paul Shirey says he's heard from a credible source that the fifth entry in the Die Hard franchise will receive an R rating for it's Feb. 14 release, with an official announcement coming soon. Gotta say, having grown up with the series' R-rated roots, I'm giddy. No, I don't need copious amounts of blood and gore to make me happy, but I also don't need "Yippe-ki-yay motherBLAM!" either. John McClane, much like Shawn and I, is a foul-mouthed, smart aleck, motherfucker, and that comes off best uncensored. Shirey says it might seem silly to get excited about a movie's rating, and I agree. But it's nice to see a big studio like 20th Century Fox realize the brand they are working with and not compromise it. Is there hope for Hollywood after all? Doubt it, but at least they're trying. John McClane (Bruce Willis) travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack,...

A Good Day to Die Hard gets a bombastic trailer

Not that we're complaining. Oh no. Not us. Sure, there's the one CGI-enhanced sequence involving our plummeting heroes and an exploding helicopter, but the rest is pure gold. There's also more story this time, not that story is uber important with a movie like this. We've got explosions, gunfire, a hot chick in black lingerie riding a motorcycle, and The Bruce making funny. Bring on Feb. 14! And I gotta admit, the line "Me and my boy are gonna put a whuppin' on you" makes me proud to be the father of a son. John McClane (Bruce Willis) travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces. Jai Courtney, most recently seen as one of the baddies in Jack Reacher, plays . . . well . . . Jack. Thanks to EW.com for the trailer.

A Good Day to Die Hard poster brings The Bruce

The Bruce and things that go pop, as that old Outland comic strip once said. Did I just date myself? If so, I hope I put out. Yes, this appeared in Entertainment Weekly a couple of days ago. But, in the interest of good taste following the Newtown shootings, we figured we'd hold off for a day or two before posting anything with a firearm on it. And, being an action movie, guns figure big in A Good Day to Die Hard. I actually dig this poster for the fifth Die Hard film. It gives supporting player Jai Courtney a bit of the short shift, but this franchise still belong to Bruce Willis, dammit. So he deserves to be front and centre. This time around John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.  A Good Day to Die Hard opens Feb. 14.
