New Star Trek TV series gets a teaser

As in a teaser poster. Sorry Trekkies, the series doesn't debut until 2017. So all CBS has unleashed is a very simple teaser poster, but one that certainly says this will be a Star Trek TV series, and the first on network television since the original series back in . . . well, before I even came along. But enough about me, here's the teaser poster:

Bill Paxton on board for Training Day TV series

That's right, Training Day -- the gritty Denzel Washington flick from like 15 years ago -- is becoming a TV series. And get this, it's actually a SEQUEL to the movie. Because if any movie screamed for a sequel, it's Training Day. And a TV sequel to boot. Yes, I am being sarcastic. I say this as someone who absolutely loved Training Day, and still gives it a watch from time to time.

L.A. peeps, see Afflicted for free

That's right -- FREE! Who doesn't like to see a movie for free? I think everyone does, and Derek Lee and Clif Prowse's found-footage horror flick Afflicted looks like it's a good one, at least from the preview we showed here in The Basement last week. Afflicted hits theatres April 4, but Los Angeles Basementites can check out a free screening at Hollywood Horrorfest on March 28 at 11 p.m. at the New Beverly Cinema .
