The Basement Boys are back for their first cast of 2019, and they've brought someone with them! Well, in truth, former hop-farmer-turned-journalist-and-blogger Shannon Ainslie asked to join Jason and Shawn, as she's a fan of what they're slinging.

That's right.  Christmas Eve and our family voted on seeing a movie. Which movie? "H2O Bro", or "Aquaman". Being the night of the fat, red, comet that crashes into your chimneys and takes all the credit for the magic you created, I'll be brief. All Star cast - Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman and basement favourite: Dolph Lungren!

The headline pretty much sums it up for this, the last extended cut podcast of 2018. Jason and Shawn ARE BACK one more time before the Christmas chaos begins, and they've brought the full 17-minute interview with Travelers co-star Leah Cairns with them. She stars opposite Eric McCormack in the Canadian sci-fi series, which just had seasons two and three drop on Netflix.

The last weekend before Christmas has arrived, and that means it's a huge one at the box office. Why? Because when folks aren't unwrapping presents and enjoying holiday cheer, they go to the movies. So this morning's Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show segment is full of movie-releated conversation. But there's also an interview with a Kamloops actor who has done really well for herself in Hollywood.

With the recent release of the "Aquaman" and "Shazam!" movie trailers, I started thinking about a few of my favorite DC Comics characters that I felt deserve to be on the big screen. Without further ado, here they are in alphabetical order:

Comic-Con 2018 is in full swing down in San Diego, and The Basement is unable to be there. But we can bring you the goods when able. And at this moment, we can present the trailers for the upcoming DCU flicks SHAZAM! and Aquaman and the much-anticipated Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Hello folks!  Shawn here.  Stepping into the basement, as needed, to add to the chaos that has befallen Justice League. While Jason and I will be forever divided by DC/Marvel - that isn't a bad thing.  Keeps it interesting.  It's the same with Star Trek/Star Wars...I can appreciate both, but have my favorites.  Subjectivity is divine! I've loved all things Marvel.  I've loved all things DC.  Perspective is key. Justice League does not deserve the negativity floating around about it.  People aren't seeing it, just because of the negative reviews.  I call BULLSHIT. This movie is every bit as good as any Marvel beginning! The best part is, it can compete!  As a comic book nerd (who hates to read), how could I not lap up every second of every comic adapted movie!?  Wanna bitch about CGI? You forget what you are watching? haha. Wanna bitch about "tones" and depth of character? - Forget what you are watching?  The founda...

My interest in the DC Cinematic Universe, or whatever they are gonna call it, just increased by a wide margin. Why? Because one of my all-time favourite screen hotties -- Amber Heard -- is in talks to join Batfleck and company in a number of upcoming movies inspired by DC Comics.
